A world record!

How about this...in a 'NZ Football Championship' match last night between arch rivals Auckland City and Waitakere Utd,16 players were yellow carded and 3 shown the red.:eek: :eek: :eek: Apparently its a world record. Another remarkable fact was Waitakere were 3-0 up with 23 minutes to play,and lost 4-3,the final goal coming in the 99 minute.And no,it wasn't a cup tie!!!!

The Portugal v Holland game in the World Cup had 16 yellows and 4 reds. According to the reports at the time the yellows equalled the world record and it broke the record for the reds.

Incidently,the ref concearned had only 4 weeks earlier been voted as, and awarded the Ref of the year title
