Re: Questions for the Club 2007

Questions will be given to the club on Saturday the 6th of January 2007

Q1. KIPAX
Grahame Charnley.. Is the Clayton end roof going to be started in January as you indicated to me last month.

Q2.Give us the old gree
Why dont the Stanley substitutes have proper bench jackets and tracksuit pants ?

Q3. Doug
What is the chance of getting the shop enlarged and the range extended?

Q4. Nickelson
in regards to the possible new stadium why not create a communial stadium somwhere in hyndburn. Also can you dissclose your possible sites to relocate to

Q5. Wynonie Harris
When are the club going to start on the construction of a licensed bar behind the Clayton End and perhaps the Coppice End too?

Q6. sparkie
Will we be getting another goalkeeping coach? Surely all of our keepers from first team to youth would benefit from this.

Q7. sparkie
2. whats the current situation with the pitch? Are there any plans to improve it, and do you think it is part of the problems we're having on the pitch?

Q8. AccyRed
As part of a recent news item the club say "we hope to transform the Sports Bar to make it a more modern facility" Is this going to happen in the near future and would it be a total re-fit...?

Q9.cmonstanley
could we have more halftime pre match entertainment

Q10. maccawozzagod
Have we been sold down the river with the Gary Roberts deal bearing in mind how well he has done there? If he had been rubbish or got injured would we still have received the same fee?

Q11. Nickelson
Why don't the club follow a similar approach from rovers with the card scheme. Every fan at rovers (non season ticket) was givin a card and every home match they attend (certain games) was givin a stamp on the card say the first 3 stamps and you could earn free admission to the match. you could however purshase a card for say 3 pounds as this would almost certainly add to the profit of the club.

Q12. KIPAX
Where have the Stanley Angels disspeared to?

Sports Bar service pre match and half time

Is it not possible to have someone constantly pouring the most popular pints, i.e. Fosters, John Smiths smooth etc and putting them in a central area to speed up things, then the bar staff need just to pick up 2 or 3 pints etc and you're away - faster service = more takings = more profit + happier customers

Possible relocation of the ground

Lets go home !!! Peel Park !!! close to Town centre, on a bus route, reasonable parking - and the publicity would be enormous - "the little club that just wouldn't die" returning to its original home

I was going to mention something along those lines but falling short of that ie could Stanley have arrangements with one or more other clubs eg Liverpool to give their youngsters and fringe players a better chance of first team football?

Quite clearly the management would have to retain the last word as to who actually took the field in any particular game.

Apparently Rotherham United have been having discussions with Adie Boothroyd of Watford about some Watford youngsters getting loan experience with Rotherham as part of a scheme to benefit both clubs.

Like Coley and Jimmy Alan Knill at Rotherham has an excellent reputation for getting the best out of young footballers.

Could I suggest that Sheffield United who own Chengdu Blades appear to have a very good academy and seem keen to loan their young players out? Recent examples are Ross to Notts County, Quinn to Rotherham, Forte to Doncaster and Hurst to Chesterfield.

If any were likely to move on at some stage it would give Stanley and the player a good chance to look at each other. That's how Scunthorpe got Billy Sharp - again from the Sheffield United.

No doubt they will be well represented at the game and this may afford opportunities for Stanley to have a chat with them about promising UK based and Asian based players.

Re: Questions for the Club 2007

Don`t know if this is a question or a suggestion, but I was talking to my brother inlaw over christmas, he works for the firm who built City of manchester Stadium.

He said if Stanley were looking into the possibilities of a move into a new ground that they should hold a competition for designers/architects to design a new Stadium. This could result in a number of designs (done for FREE) from which they could chose maybe the bulk of one design with aspects of one or more other designs preferred. They would need to outline the specifications/requirements for designers to work to, maybe include provision for expansion, i.e. some terraces which may later become seated or Stands which could be extended. With all the designs in place and a location chosen it is then much easier to approach backers with a clear cut vision of what they`ll be backing.

I`m still of the opinion that we should be knocking on the door of the Championship before we even contemplate upping sticks, but there`s no harm in having the plans in place nice and early.
