New Year Coverage

Well, it will be our first game and hopefully our first win of 2007. Notwithstanding 2br’s Match Day contribution at FES, the big question is. Will we have any full match commentary to soften brighten our New Years Day.

Re: New Year Coverage

As you know, if Burnley play, then they get commentary. That's just the way it is. I'll be there (as always) and we'll be backwards and forwards between the two games to get regular news from the Stanley games (for example, for the last 2 home games we have switched from the Burnley game to Stanley in order to get Toddy's 2 penalties)

As explained many times before (but I know you like me telling you Doug ;)) there are loads of problems with trying to get regular commentaries in League Two, ranging from commercial appeal to facilities at away grounds and such. Things may change in the future. I don't know. But what I do know is that 2BR cover EVERY Stanley game in the biggest way possible.

And, by way of ending on a cliffhanger, there WILL be more Stanley commentaries in the not too distant future...

Re: New Year Coverage

Dan, I have tremendous respect for you and I enjoy you coverage even when it’s just the up dates, but I can’t get 2br in Blackpool unless it’s over the net and they keep pulling the plug on that.

It would be nice if in the New Year some of the stations recognise that Accrington Stanley are, irrespective of the past, something special and deserve the investment in live commentary.

Until then Dan I thank both you and Karen for you commitment and lively coverage that brings the action from the park into our homes and sometimes our cars. Again Thanks, Have a good and safe New Year.

You never know you might get coverage tomorrow if the weather in Wrexham is better than it is here :)

In my experience if a signal is weak you still stand a chance with analogue radio.

Hence I can get Radio Sheffield in the middle of East Yorkshire on FM and even AM at times - and FM even when we went to Chester.

However when I tried my elder son's digital radio I had no chance it got completely confused by the weak signal and all I got were random sounds.

In that case I'll buy myself something useful :)

All I can get on Analogue is Radio Lancs, So I have to depend on the web for local radio coverage. Never mind :) Things can only get better.

Please don’t do this to me. I’d love to make the trip, but alas I can not. I will make more trips away next year I hope.

Right, Doug, this is the whisky talking, but I will buy you a pre-match drink in the soulless hellhole they call Milton Keynes!

That's a long time to wait for a pint. Milton Keynes? will I need passport for that one.

Cheer's for that, I'll hold you to that.

The away fans' pub is called "Shout". It's above the bus station and it sounds appalling. But your pint will be waiting!

I expected the game to be off , off field tactics can be just as important as on field tactics. ;)

You mean you can’t afford to loose another………….You should have played; you could have blamed poor performance on the conditions.

What do you mean be nice? I’ve given up swearing, flirting and being nasty to Mr Rindy, what more do you want.

Don't think it was the hail, rumour has it our manager was on the pitch all night with watering can in hand.:D

Anyway no point playing if your new 750K man has to sit in the stand, we need him on the pitch :)

The 200K for Roberts should do nicely if spent wisely.
