FOA the singers at Wrexham

Gents and Ladies,

You support today was tremendous.

In the First half the noise was constant throughout the 44 minutes.

In the 2nd apart from the ocassonal "Wrexham, Wrexham" chant there WAS more noise in Accy library!!

HOWEVER why the need for the occasional "rude" and offensive type chants??

Surely with the number of chants you have available to you there is no need to resort to such rubbish:mad:

Not only is it embrassing to most Accy people, it could be considered offence to the stewards and have you ejected.

Please keep up the noise levels, it inspired the lads and was a major factor in today's victory.

Cart on to another 3 points at Boston:)

interesting you pick up on ultras singing rude words and not the mob that attacked there minibus outside the ground?

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

 Kipax,

Have only justed picked up on the incident on the board.

There was no knowledge of that within the mainstand.

The incident does not sound good at all. Will speak to Mick S in the morning to see if his counterpart at Wrexham can throw any light on this sad occurance:mad:

Most of it happened on the club car park directly aftre the game.. you could see the little pockets of them.. then they came up to the bus as they where about to board it... eventually they all dissapeared and reformed at the side of the ground to atatck the bus en-mass.

not a copper or steward in sight .... that women wiht her kid as a lookout....amazing..

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

We got there at 1 o'clock, so was lucky enough to park on one of the side streets between the roundabout and the carpark and so did not know of any trouble till i got home and saw the forum. I know this sort of thing shouldn't happen but visiting fans will always get this sort of treatment from places such as Wrexham. Sad but true. As for the mother/daughter lookout combo......it doesn't surprise me.

I arrived around 2.30 and managed to get on this tiny car park just across the road for £2!!! I was straight out no hassle and did not see any of the trouble, but I think its disgusting!!!!! what do these people gain from this type of behavior!!!!

Interesting that you make no connection between the two.

I think Southernred's point is well made, and the Ultra's need to concentrate on matters football, at which they are brilliant. The total abuse of all things Welsh was beyond a joke, and pretty pathetic.

Obviously the attack is totally unacceptable, and it seems that stewarding and policing suddenly dissapear when such things occur.

Condone it if you want Kipax, but I think the nature and extent today was totally out of order. There is no way either of us could print what was being sung on this website.

KIPAX 01-01-2007 23:40

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

To be honest I didnt hear it.. I am just going by what you and southern are saying.. which isnt a great deal.. where do you get I am condoning it from?

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

They were singing about Tom Jones and stuff... like that has anything to do wth football and is going to cause any offence what so ever!!!! being half Welsh my self this had no affect on me at all!!!! I just ignored it!!!!!!:p :p :p :p These "chavs" probably went to the match looking for trouble anyway!!!!

Oggy is dead right. How anyone can be surprised by reaction from a few Wrexham nutters being provoked by stupid, ignorant insults is beyond me. I almost wouldn't even blame stewards for turning a blind eye as they probably felt the same way. Mind you, I come from an far-off era when little lads were bollocked by their dads just for booing the opposition.:)

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

It's well known that there is small sections of supporters of clubs in Leagues 1 & 2 that are absolute neaderthals and will go to any game in search of a ruck.

I wasn't present but I presume that the Ultras songs were sung in jest and definitely did not intend to start trouble - only to get the silent opposition support into singing for their team to get a bit of banter going.

It is my bet that the Ultras songs were not the reason for the attack on the bus & that this section of idiots from Wrexham will take anything as an excuse to start trouble.

Erm football & anti welsh, yorkshire, ginger, bald, fat go together like pie & chips. Some of the best comedy is written on terraces by fans the length & breadth of the country. We heard MUCH worse in the car park after the game I can tell you.

Will try to curtail the bad language mind but will coninue to back the boys home & away for 90 minutes............

On Stanley On

Come on Mick, for years at Accy in the League & Non-League we've shouted at each other for 90 minutes then had a beer with em in the bar afterwards............:)

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

I agree, we used to not even sing at Barrow and still the trouble came. I'm not condoning the use of ignorant or abusive chants about the opposition and have and will sing songs that others may deem offensive, but there are some I wouldn't sing just because they are too near the knuckle. There are chants that the Ultras wouldn't go near because that isn't their modus operandi.

Clubs that have numpties that want to attack the other fans generally know about it and should take steps to prevent it happening again. These muppets in my experience only go for the more vocal fans because that is their way of coping with being outsung at home. For that reason Stanley will be targeted by the silly soft core hooligan. The more ferocious and violent hooligan would never come near Stanley because we have no element of thugs with us. The 'true' hoolie does not attack scarfers and that is what our fanbase would be known as.

Willie Miller 02-01-2007 12:48

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

& nobody would've attacked me dressed as Ethel............

One of the boys outside the bus shouted "there's a transvestite on the bus"

I'm sure Wrexham have some real hooligans but the lads trying to act hard were just kids

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

the minibus was being attacked by alot of squeeky voiced little children banging on it thinking its hard and they where videoing the whole thing and i didnt see a steward or police officer anywhere! aswell southern red i bet you didnt see Mcevilly sticking his fingers up at us and celebrating there goal did you! thats why some of the chants where swearing and directed at him from us.

no accrington fans tried to start at all and our fans where singing for accrington in the stand and outside but it was the wrexham fans who were coming over and swearing directly at us!

so no one squared up to you in the car park before you got to the bus then jase?

Re: FOA the singers at Wrexham

I have to confess, I do condone the so-called "Offensive" Chanting. It's part and parcel of football, it's all meant in jest. And has Jase has already pointed out, we've chanted so-called offensive chants at the opposition before and shared a friendly pint with them after the match.

Wrexham just have their share of idiots much like Colchester and Barrow, people intent on causing trouble just for the sake of it.

"Fake Stone Island, you look like a Tramp!"

I thought this was a very good thread starter, well written and thoughtful. It gave full credit to the passion and volume of support. The "incident" rather took us away from the point.

We outsung the Welsh in their own backyard,FACT.

I, and a few others thought maybe 5% was out of order, no big deal, but worth pointing out.

The Ultras entry into the stadium lifted the atmosphere considerably, and the volume was brilliant, considering how much you'd drunk the night before. I thought McEvilly made you take your eye off the ball, and the anti welsh thing was overdone. These are very minor quibbles.

But I think you're better than that.

Going back to Bury away, everybody else joined in, but I'm not joining in, on where, exactly, to put Tom Jones. (How outdated, we were still in the League when he started out)

Hope I've made sense.

PS. The only Wrexham chant I heard, was "Only sing when you're winning", only just heard it, cos you lot hadn't actually shut up.

PPS. Now I know who Willie Miller is, where do you get your dresses from? Hilda would love one like that.

I'm looking forward to Rochdale away, when no doubt, we will have another huge (by our standards) following. The Ultras will mass, the flags will wave, the ticker tape will flutter, the drums will beat, the hoardes will roar.

We need to start cranking up the hype well before this game and ensure the best and noisiest ever travelling support

Cart On, yeah, let's big it up. Is that what they say these days?

[Macca, prepare for a PM, I have an idea ;) ]
