We Are NOT Going Down!

Why?

We have the BEST manager in the football league, that's why.

Once JC get's his January targets and the injured players recover and the suspensions lift, we will again see the fast flowing football of Accrington Stanley & the unbeatable team spirit.

We have come from nothing, with very little investment to catalyse our promotions. Accrington Stanley FC has defeated all expectations and will continue to do so.

Cart On Stanley.
Keep the Faith.

I'll probably get told off for asking but what makes him the best manager in the league ?

3 promotions in 5 years with only around 50k spent in his whole time here.

For me, in modern football that makes a truly great manager.

i think it means coleman WAS the best manager in the conferecnce league!!!! lol, only joking, we will return, injurys aside and signings settled in, i`m going for a top 15 finish.........i`ll take that.:D

Re: We Are NOT Going Down!

It is looking very worrying at the moment but it is still early days and I'm convinced we can turn it round. Coley is still the best manager we could have at the present time but I've never had total faith in Eric Whalley who does make it very hard for everyone working at the club.

It dont look to good for you ,even the diehards must concede ,but torquay are doomed finaly they have teased with the drop for years wrexham rochdale and mansfield all look pretty poor ,macca will probably end up mid table grimsby look a bit fishy .youll be ok trust me ,but the GOB coleman must go.

Even after Wrexham JC was having early problems getting players in. See:

http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/sp...or_coleman.php

Losing 6 pointers like yesterday and the club's league position is not going to help.

Stanley have yet to go to places like Wycombe, MK Dons and Swindon. The next home game against Notts County is going to be very important. Apparently they are not in the best of form at the moment.

The first sign of a club on the verge of relegation are threads on forums claiming, "We are NOT going down".

None of them in the football league though. Sometimes managers have a level they can peak at the same as players. Only time will tell.

Do you get promoted if everyone says "We Are Going Up", reverse logic and all that :D

It's cause and effect. Unfortunately it doesn't work in reverse. ;)

And so you should, the first rule of any football fan is to enjoy the moment because the good ones don't come along too often when you support football clubs instead of plastic clubs :)

Diesel 07-01-2007 11:00

Re: We Are NOT Going Down!

We did look very poor yesterday, but we have key players out injured and suspended, we just haven't had that much luck this season, I'm keeping the faith though, we will stay up. The way we played at Wrexham tells me that.

shakermaker 07-01-2007 11:12

Re: We Are NOT Going Down!

What's happened to the faith of Stanley fans eh?
The faith that eventually saw us get promotion to the football league while having to endure defeats against Horwich RMI!

We've been in a lot tighter spots than this, and we will get out of it.

Get a grip for Gods sake there’s 20 games to play yet, we might be crap at the moment but we’re not beat.

Come on keep the faith! It was never going to be easy, we are not below the dotted line yet and still half a season to go! Had we won at home to Mansfield we'd be up to 17th! Bring it on...:Banane01:

Redraine 07-01-2007 15:51

Re: We Are NOT Going Down!

A bit more creativity in midfield and we could probably have come away from Boston with the points. Coley is right to say we badly missed Jay Harris. I wish he would not play Rocky out of position in midfield though - there were other options available yesterday which would have given us a bit more subtlety!

You are the oracle my friend.....

No creativity in midfield & no "ball retention" meant no clear cut chances & a game that looked like we played for a draw. Best manager or not, if Ultras FC played centre halves in midfield we'd be crap too...

But enjoy the ride people, attend as many games as possible, remember the games at Conlgeton, Pickering, Leek ztown or Frickley. It could be 44 years till we return. But who didn;t enjoy the promotion season from the conference, we can do it again in 2007-2008

In Coleman We Trust

You are right of course, the times I have thought to myself “what the hell am I doing” only to see a spark of hope, a flash of determination or a few seconds of inspirational play and have my faith restored. This may sound ‘oh so romantic’ but in truth in may just be stupidity or at least gullibility in the belief that Accrington Stanley will raised it’s Colours and rise again.

Ha Ha Ha, I remember taking a friend to football.
Stevenage away if I remember rightly and since then she has never looked back ;)

Come on people, We all know that watching Stanley is a rollercoaster.
Every emotion possible in 90 minutes. Lets not get down and negative about it all, Lets get to the FES on Saturday and Tuesday and be that extra man and support the lads to a victory.

Support at home is vital, Most places we have been this season have been intimadating and loud. Lets make FES like that !!

It's looking increasingly likely that Torquay will go down, leaving one place for someone to join them. I think it will be the team whose Manager loses his nerve. Don't think that will be your guy.

Outback Ozzy 10-01-2007 21:47

Re: We Are NOT Going Down!

We have 10 home games and 9 away till the end of the season - the team have to make the home games count and try to eke out as many points from the away games as possible. I think a realistic target is 53 points and I think that will be enough to make us safe. But we have to beat the teams in the bottom half of the table and a few of them that are above 12th place.

It could be Macclesfield. Jose Mourinho already thinks of them as a Conference side: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...534716,00.html ;)

Ermm, 11 at home and 9 away. Going back five seasons, all teams in bottom two have had less than 50 points, (can't find earlier years).

Wrexham have just got rid of Dennis Smith, good or bad?

I stand corrected Oggy. Regarding Dennis Smith, good for us as we have played them twice and beat them both times, bad for others who haven't or not as the case may be, depends if the rot has set in or not
