Half time and the stats suggest we're 'All over them'.Time for a change of tactics -I shall remove my Stanley shirt(indifferent results when I wear it,)and pop out for a fag. That often works.

All I can say is if we cannot win at home then we are down - I do not think that the faith can be kept any longer. Urgent changes are required - sooner rather than later. Sort it now please Mr Chairperson

Bloody hell we are not looking good at all :( sorry its so hard not to be down about it im afraid, however hard u try, according to 2BR we havent won at home since september/october 06 [thats 2br quote not mine!!!]. As much as conference doesn't scare me - quite a regular last season as this one, but i do think its a damned shame when back in oct we were 9th in table, now its looking a relegation battle, unless changes & improvements to our team are made & our signings gel within the team, also playing the right people on team sheet - my view of things atm.

Gee not like you macca:eek: so its all summed up in one word CRAP! then mmmm i know the feeling:(

Re: vs Notts County

Just got back, Rogers can go back to which ever club he came from. What an idiot. We would have been better off without him then with him. Everytime he had the ball i was on edge. He kept passing it back to robbie who then was put under too much pressure.

I think I'd be better served by not posting again today, I was in a cant be arsed mood to start with and it was compounded by all events thereafter. Shove it

So my happy birthday didn't lift your mood then macca???

Really fed up, our defence need a right good kick up the backsides, it was horrendous :(

one positive was rommy back :)

Paper Boy 13-01-2007 17:04

Re: vs Notts County

Can't understand for the life of me why we upset our already nervy back four by dropping our right back, playing our left back in his place and out of position and putting an overweight thug in the left back spot. Hopefully it will all feel better in the morning!

maccawozzagod 13-01-2007 17:08

Re: vs Notts County

In fairness Leam is right footed anyway and Baines was injured/unavailable.

But I take your point as Phil Edwards is a right back and cant get a place. Rogers possibly deserved a game and Coely has tracked him for a long time, but on todays showing he shouldn't get another game. The tackle was bad enough, but when their player jumped straight up at him his first reaction was throw punches. Amateur.

A big part of ouor problem this season has been the swapping and changing of players across the back four.

Tin Monkey 13-01-2007 17:16

Re: vs Notts County

The main reason why we keep swopping our back four is because it's not good enough.

Today I thought it was 100% effort from the players, but their ability just isn't up to this level. Being honest, with the current squad, we'd be bottom half of the Conference.

Re: vs Notts County

Stanley were the far better team today the result doesn`t reflect the performance. The atmosphere was a bit poor but if anyone else has got the same cold as me then I know why you didn`t feel like shouting much. Where the FFFFFFFFFFFFF is the drum I`ve never heard it since they said it was allowed. Some great passing spells today but a lot of excellent moves just came to nothing, their goalie had very safe hands and caught just about everything that came over the box, if he`d just fubmled a bit it would have been a whole different story. Our defence simply don`t inspire confidence, your hearts in your mouth every time it`s down our end, hey but lets face it that wasn`t that much today, i expexted a lot more from County but Macca should have saved a CRAP for them. Absolutely no way deserved 3 points. 2nd goal was purely an Elliot mistake, sorry Robbie we all make `em, but he pulled himself together and played well for the rest of the game. Podgers didn`t look too inspiring then 2 footed challenge followed by some afters, at least he took 1 of theirs with him and got everyone excited for a minute. Good to have Rommy back but I would have rested him when down to 10 and brought Joe on. Anyone any idea why Toddy went off cos he was our biggest threat all afternoon. Shaun Whalley did some great defence carving then forgot to give it to anyone.

Wasn`t uplifting for sure but I`m sorry to see U so down Macca, I`ll buy you a pint tomorrow night.

3 point off Mansfield is now ESSENTIAL.

Don`t lose faith, we can turn it around.
We`re Staying Up !

in a dire game we are getting nothing from we mad eonly one substitution and there was Jacobson, Edwards, Doherty left? ANY fresh impetus could have done something today.

Tin Monkey 13-01-2007 17:34

Re: vs Notts County

Coleman looks devoid of ideas and he seems to be having real problems getting better players in.

Re: vs Notts County

Zero

What game were you watching??? we got what we deserved today and that was nothing!!!! what have not got the players at the moment to handle playing league football. i know i'm going to get a load of crap for saying this but the following players are not league standard, Paul Mullin, Andrew Proctor, Robbie williams just to name a few that played today. Champions of non league is what the ultras sing but we might be back alot sooner then expected.

Paper Boy 13-01-2007 18:00

Re: vs Notts County

Although we're all obviously disappointed (understatement) we're still only a few points away from mid table. Fortunatley for us the vast majority of league two is also crap.

With the return of Boco and, hopefully, another couple of quality additions in the next fortnight we could be somewhere near the team that won the Conference last season and get out of the brown stuff we're currently in. That's been the trouble - the Conference team we would have been challenging for the play offs, but the current side is nowhere near what we had last season.

Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Kiwi John 13-01-2007 18:08

Re: vs Notts County

Every team turns in a 'shocker' or two during the season.9 times out of 10 they bounce back in the very next game.If we have one or two more 'regulars' availiable,a positive result will be achieved on Tuesday,of that I have no doubt. If restricted to the same squad as today,I still think a much improved effort will occur.

maccawozzagod 13-01-2007 18:16

Re: vs Notts County

Hereford 1 Mansfield 3

they dont appear to be missing their top scorer Richie Barker do they?

Its got to happen on tuesday

cmonstanley 13-01-2007 18:26

Re: vs Notts County

its not gonna happen on tuesday cant see where the spark is going to come from were to sluggish its like what i said before the beginning of the season we needed to sign a target man sorry but mullers is either playing out of position or just not good enough theres no point winning headers when you dont direct them towards a teamate or thers nobody running into a space where you direct them we didnt have a clue today....

Paper Boy 13-01-2007 19:42

Re: vs Notts County

Totally agree. Although we're amongst the top scorers in the league, our forwards are never going to put the fear of god into the oposition. Unfortunatley there are a few other positions in the team were the same could be said. Here's hoping Coley redeems himself with a few signings in the next couple of weeks before it's too late. If he does, then we should all agree that he truly is the 'football genius' as he's got his work cut out to attract players to the FES.

Outback Ozzy 13-01-2007 20:15

Re: vs Notts County

The only positives out off todays result is that Torquay only managed a draw and Macclesfield lost so we are not in the relegation spot yet! nuff said.

Uncle Mick 13-01-2007 20:24

Re: vs Notts County

That was a very poor performance to say we needed three points. County did`nt deserve it?, well they took their chances after some very sloppy defending so good luck to them. Second half we hardly had a shot on target and Pilkington had nothing to do. Maybe Coley can let some of the fans give a half time team talk, we`d put a rocket up their complacent *rses.
Good point of the day, we`re still not bottom!:(

Tin Monkey 13-01-2007 20:32

Re: vs Notts County

It's funny, but I don't see the team as complacent. I think they are giving all they can, but it's not enough.

I'd never criticise players for giving 100%. It's just that 100% of what they have to give isn't enough for the league we're in.

Uncle Mick 13-01-2007 20:38

Re: vs Notts County

Gotta disagree TM, they knew it was a must win game and still did`nt fight every ball, giving possesion away to cheaply. I felt sorry for Rob Eliott, he looked twitchy between the sticks as he obviously has no confidence in the defence and neither do I!

rude-dog 13-01-2007 20:57

Re: vs Notts County

Not sure how you can feel sorry for rob, it was a bad mistake for the second goal and his kicking was as bad as it has been for a while. Every other kick put us under pressure some didnt even get off the floor

stanleyfan 13-01-2007 21:02

Re: vs Notts County

i must say though the wind was terible the first half it was blowing one way the next time i checked (about 5 mins later) it was blowing the other way..

and even thought it was robs fault. The defender should never have passed it back to him.(left hand side of goal) he slipped beause he was put under pressure, leaving him out of position... ?????

rude-dog 13-01-2007 21:32

Re: vs Notts County

It was an aerial challenge between whelch and lee if my memory serves me right and it was flicked on by one of them. I would never claim to be an expert on goalkeeping. mistakes with there feet i can live with but when its there hands we have got problems

WHAT??? Has he got Dunbavin disease??? This is not good at all.

Tin Monkey 14-01-2007 07:49

Re: vs Notts County

Elliott isn't the player he was last year. His reflexes seem to be at about 90% and his overall fitness looks lacking. He's a good yard or more slower than he was and that showed yesterday when he was too slow to recover from his fumble, despite being favourite to get that ball.

stanleyfan 14-01-2007 09:28

Re: vs Notts County

I agree that rob doesnt look as good as he did last season but perhaps it because he is out under alot of pressure form the defence, losing gary and ian doesnt help beause they took the pressure of the defense.

Growler 14-01-2007 10:51

Re: vs Notts County

Depressing stuff but that's the way it is. If we didn't feel down about this that would just show we didn't care.

Losing key players like Craney and Roberts can sometimes take a couple of seasons to recover from. It's not just a case of replacing them with equally talented players but getting the new players to gel with the team to the point where all the players can intuitively read each other.

Remember how long it took Rovers to rebuild a quality team after Shearer, Ripley, Sherwood and Gallagher left?

Lets keep the faith which means accepting how crap things are at the moment but never losing hope for the future.

Re: vs Notts County

Now now Macca,

They had a decent squad including the impressive on-loan Eyal Berkovic that got them promoted back into the premiership and have slowly but steadily strengthened ever since. I rekon they'll linger mid premiership for many seasons to come. Always a class above Burnley and Preston but never quite up there with Liverpool, Chelsea, Arse and Man U(re!) Pretty much the same fate as Bolton I predict.

Sorry, but where do you place us in this equation???
This is an Accy Stanley site, after all!!

Growler 15-01-2007 05:59

Re: vs Notts County

I was using them as an example of how long it can take to effecltively replace key players.
We fit into the equation because we have lost Craney and Roberts in case you hadn't noticed...
Without those two (especially Roberts in IMO) we wouldn't even be in this league.
