Jonny Mac was the legendary mid nineties original pseudo scouse wide boy number 9 who played originally under Stan Allen.

Legendary for not wanting his wages to go through the books as it may interfere with 'wage' the government paid him.

Legendary for his prowess in the bar rather than the box.

Legendary for wearing his heart on his sleeve which endeared him to the vocalists

Legendary for whingeing in Barbados that we never sang songs about him on the terrace. When we explained that firstly he had only been with the club for about a month and made fleeting substitute appearances, and secondly we knew none he launched into a ten minute top of his voice salvo in a nightclub of every song he had ever wanted singing about him.

Legendary for joining in on 'stoving' sessions no matter who the unlucky recipient was.

Legendary for his miss away at Radcliffe that saw us out of the cup after he had rounded the keeper and somehow avoided an open goal from four yards out (ten minutes after also missing a penalty). Same incident caused a legendary stanley fan to lose control of his right leg which shot forward at an unsecured portion of perimeter walling causing Berlin Wall tumbling ramifications. Well you'd have thought so listening to the groundsman rabbiting away about it.

Legendary for always being the last out of the clubhouse after a match.

Legendary for never getting a round in but always managing to get on the end of somebody elses.

REDS BASH BARROW: Barrow 3 Accrington Stanley 4

Seven minutes from time McNally was put clear and superbly chipped the ball over the advancing Deegan to net Stanley's winner.

Before my time, but winner against the Mighty Barrow at Holker St. will do for me, and yet another scouser. ;)

The penny dropped while I was in the bath this morning ( not that I always think of Macca when I'm in the bath :o ). I realised I had seen Macca addresed by name on here before and realised John wasn't one of those names :D
