Tony Grant
According to one of the Crewe Alexandra sites, we've signed their midfielder Tony Grant (ex Man City and Burnley and a proud member of Uglyfootballers.com. It may or may not be true - but he WAS born in Liverpool!:)

Re: Tony Grant
The Man City and Burnley supporter who sit in the next office are both giving me bad vibes about him. Anybody know anything about him?
|
Re: Tony Grant
Only had 2 games for Crewe this season I beleive. If you get him to do some work it will be an excellent signing for you. Pleanty of experience and plays the ball around well. Twilight of his career but could be useful
By the way he's nicknamed Rodney for obvious reasons :D |

He has a very laid back approach which can be misleading and make him look as they he isn't trying. You have to decide which is the real Tony Grant. :) There are still some Burnley fans who think he could do a job for us. |

Pretty sure he is one of Cookey's mates |
Re: Tony Grant
sounds to be promising http://www.crewealex.premiumtv.co.uk...973647,00.html adds a bit of experience to the middle of the park

Re: Tony Grant
I am very excited about our new signings although the keeper is young bolton did let ian walker go so big sam must believe in him. Mauro started at porto so he must have something about him he was probably there same time as mourinho. And tony grant is the type of player i feel we need some one who will keep the ball for us and take the pressure off the defence. hopefully he will have the same impact that marshy and cookey had. Coley should be commended for some shrewd business. Couple this with the imminent return of cav and its like havin 4 new players 5 if u include boco. Just hope we get a striker now and i think we will soon start moving clear

Re: Tony Grant
yeh but we still cant sign player :D
|
Re: Tony Grant
Let's not get too excited, although Crewe's website says he's been released by mutual consent and he's set to sign for us, there's nothing on the fishy site yet. but if he's gonna sign he'd best hurry up - only a few hours left to the deadline.

Re: Tony Grant
It's on teletext now that Grant is on his way to us - seems Crewe can't wait to get shut :)
|
Re: Tony Grant
Now on fishy site, come as player coach
|
Re: Tony Grant
wooooooooo hes def signed!
|
Re: Tony Grant
Yep - 18 month contract, hopefully with his experience he can help steady the midfield.
|
Re: Tony Grant
This is good news to wake up too.Well done Messers Coleman,Heyes etc. Wonder if he'll start Saturday?
|
Re: Tony Grant
The scouse Makelele- brilliant player and we have not yet replaced him.
He'll keep the ball in midfield and take the pressure off your back line and is a cooling influence. |

and that is precisely what we need ...... will give Boco and Whalley a license to roam a bit and do some creativety. Stanley are go! |

Re: Tony Grant
Just thought I would add a few comments on here that have been posted on the Burnley board about one of our former 'cult' heroes. Yes I did spell cult correctly :D Hopefully he will do the business for you.
------------------- That's it, its a season ticket at the Fraser Eagle for me next season. Galactic Superstar at League Two level. I want to be part of the Tony Grant revolution! Is it true that as part of the deal that Accy are going to change their name to Tony Grant's Accrington Stanley? -------------------------------------- It will become Tony Grant's League Two. He will transform the philosophy of the English game from the bottom up. Football, in its purest form, will filter up through the divisions. It could be just what the English game needs. ------------------------------------------------------- Women are flocking to Accrington as we speak ------------------------------------------- A convoy of flat bed trucks is apparently on it's way from London to accrington. The new wembley stadium has been painstakingly moved piece by piece onto the vehicles, and a special polcie guard has been set up to ensure the smooth transition of the stadium to the new home of footballing master, Tony Grant. It has been said that premiership footballer Claude Makaleles has often been called "The French Grant" in honour of his style of play. The new stadium will be leaving London at 10:47am this morning, and is expected to be assmebled and ready for fans by 1pm on Saturday. In order to ensure the smooth operation of this audacious move, the M1, M40, M42 and M6 will all remain closed throughout the duration of the move. DO NOT TRAVEL UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO. --------------------------------------------------------- It is reported in tonight's LET that hospitals are in crisis due to the fear of a massive increase in the local birth rate. It is claimed that Tony "the Scouse Makelele" Grant can make women pregnant through osmosis, such is his power. The local Primary Care Trust has realised that with him running around the Interlink in tight fitting shorts there could be a baby boom of epic proportions. How will they cope? |
