Check the Mannix shirt you would have thought Lee could spell Accrington by now.

The G is silent in both auctions.

Ebay Ad says:

"Accrington Stanley player issue Away shirt worn by David Mannix once by the on loan Liverpool midfielder during Accringtons 1-0 league defeat away to Grimbsy."

See:

A pic of David as I remember him at Grimsby:

Well it was a bitterly cold day!

This is becoming very embarassing in fact with all the mistakes I think it wise to withdraw the lot.

Come on who did it? Lee or Rob?

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

Well, bidding, largely from members of this forum, seems to be going well enough.

Incidentally, Bagpuss, I wouldn't have had you down as a Meatloaf man. ;)

The mind boggles. I like those Stanley Keep The Faith badges, though. Now THAT'S the sort of thing Lee should be selling!

Lee 02-03-2007 22:32

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

eek! sorry about any mistakes!

These will be edited, i honestly thought the mannix shirt had been the one worn, i do have the Home shirt he did wear and the winning bidder can choose between the two, this information will be going onto the listing.

Lee

Wynonie Harris 02-03-2007 22:38

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

Sod the mistakes, Lee, you've already raised at least fifty-six quid for the club, and that's bound to rise now that "the last of the big spenders" Doug is on the case! :D

As the away shirt is of no use now I think you should offer both in the listing.

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

Let's be fair about these auctions - everyone (me included) is taking the mickey out of Lee, but so far, the combined bidding has reached £107 and there's still four days to go. Not bad going!

Only looks like £82.50 to me.

Wynonie Harris 06-03-2007 14:54

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

That's weird - the price on the Robbie Williams shirt seems to have gone down!

JEFF 06-03-2007 15:04

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

The problem with these auctions is that if you put 'Accrington' or 'Accrington Stanley' in the search box they do not show up. The reason for this is that they are advertised as shirts from Accrinton Stanley. Lee if you change the description and spell Accrington correctly you may get more bidders.

That's why all the bidders are from accyweb, come on Lee you did say you would amend the mistakes.;)

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

You cant change the title or the main text once someone has placed a bid on the item, you can before someone has bid, you can add to it though (main text) but this wouldn't work in this case

Kiwi John 06-03-2007 15:55

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

Just had alook at the Mannix auction(had placed a bid myself) and TWO bids are the same and leading??? Also one of those was placed nearly 24 hours before several other bids came in for lesser amounts:confused:  Whats the story there I wonder?

deeayess 06-03-2007 15:56

Re: 2 New Stanley Auctions!

Why not end the listing early and restart it at the current price with the title amended on a 3 day listing. As things stand I appear to be the highest bidder and i can rebid on the new listing. That way things will be as now but it will then show up in the search. If it helps the club then it must be for the best. Either PM me or email if you wish to discuss. This is for the Williams shirt
