Keepers

Dunbavin due back in the next few week, Shreks here with us for the next 4 matches, what happens then?
Should Shrek sign for the rest of the season as he's been doing OK and is match fit
OR - should bavs get his place back for the last 6 matches, can't see him being match fit though being out so long.
Personally I'd go with Shrek, whats your opinions?

Re: Keepers

I'd stick with shrek, look what happened with Elliot when bavvo took over:rolleyes:

Potential for Bolton, not us.

Dunbavin will be fit as soon as Shrek leaves, & I doubt Bolton will extend his loan, especially after this week's events.

Re: Keepers

But will he be match fit? seemed to still have a bit of a limp on Saturday

Good to see you back Ossy...............you at next home match?

On thread, Shrek has done well for us considering the defence He's had to put up with!!

Re: Keepers

No good having someone thats not match fit in the team Eg, Cav at Rochdale, If we was clear from relegation then thats a different matter!

Re: Keepers

Bav was being driven home yesterday he is still not fit.
The young Pole has not done too bad considering he is playing behind a different (not very good)defence each game.
He is a good shot stopper but a bit dodgy on crosses.
Lets see how he does over the next 2/3 games.
Bav played well at times before his injury.
The jury is out with me.

Is that not because he's banned? :D

Re: Keepers

I asked Lee in the club shop that same question. I seemed to recall something some time ago. Anyway he is still at least 2 weeks away from fitness.

Re: Keepers

Shrek is a decent lad but “is” only on loan. Bavs did well for us in the first half of the season but suffered mid season, was this due to an underlying injury or perhaps the lack of shot coach? I’d like to see the young pole stay with the Club but I think Bavs earned his spot between the sticks.

Re: Keepers

Personally, although I think Shrek is nice enough lad, he seems very dodgy on crosses etc. Doesn't seem to be able to catch the ball just punches it away!
Bav's is not the perfect answer but to me has more nouse about him.

Re: Keepers

shrek comes out of the net to much needs to stay closer to his line but he is gd 4 1 on 1s . bavs is always gd at close range

Re: Keepers

In telegraph this morn it says David Martin could return this week!
How do you rate him?
He kept a clean sheet on his debut!(all of 4 mins!)

Re: Keepers

Depends if he can legally play...

Re: Keepers

Is it not about time Martin was given his chance, after all, hasn't JC said if he had to play he would not be worried, so let the lad play and we can all judge for ourselves

I wouldn't play him personally, he is very young and too inexperienced to play in a must win game. If David Martin is to return I'd play him because if he is 20 and still at Liverpool, they must rate him.
What do you think Macca? play Martin Fearon?

maccawozzagod 11-03-2007 18:19

Re: Keepers

problem with playing Fearo is that as he would be last choice there would be nobody behind him should he need to go off. What would that do for his confidence if he was subbed at 3-0 down so that Andy Todd could go in?

If there is another option, and David Martin would be a good one if he can learn to put one foot after another, I would go for that. Come back Bavs, all is forgiven. But Fearon should be given a chance at least. Remember Alcock? now playing for England non-league.

I didn't rate Alcock, he was too small to be any good, but a nice lad. Suprised he is still a Conference goalie, he should be playing somewhere like Clitheroe!:)
