Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!

This was Wrexham's deal:
Wrexham hope reduced ticket prices will ensure the fans turn out in force for Friday's home match with Bury.

Tickets bought before 1800 GMT on Thursday will cost just £5 each. Season ticket holders can also claim a free ticket under the new 'Ticket for a Friend' scheme.

They got their biggest crowd of the season 7,030 on a Friday night!

It's got to be worth a try against Torquay, and repeat if it works.

[Think we're probably talking to a wall though :( ]

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!

From what i can see, if the majority of the fans are prepared to still pay the full price, then why would the club bother about giving a reduction. The club know that come wind, rain or shine the hard core (true) fans will still hand over their hard earned cash to watch Stanley. It's only when the real fans turn theirs backs on the club, that the club might sit up & take notice. By then though, it could be to late.

1000 fans x £13 per ticket = £19500
2000 fans x £10 per ticket = £20000
3000 fans x £8 per ticket = £24000

Makes sense to me.

Yeh thats a true point accyjay its the die hards that do keep clubs going & thus the price issue is always subject but nothing done about it & would be only way to force clubs - even high up ones to rethink their pricing strategy.

Fanfare please, I'm going to agree with a Blackburn fan

If you take the Wrexham match not only did they have tickets for a fiver but also season ticket holders taking a friend for free.

If you are doing the exercise to create a better atmosphere then yes it works to get more in cheaper.

If you did a simple maths thing with the Wrexham game, their average gate is 4471, avarage the price of normal admission at £10 for cheapness sake then it's £44,710. Even if everyone paid a fiver at Wrexham the other night then the total was only £35,150.

Can Stanley afford a loss leader to get a better atmosphere ? Doubt Eric would do that for more than one match, he couldn't afford to.

Thanks Dave. It must have been an immense lift for the team to have played in-front of over 7000 fans last night. Considering that their ground holds 15000.

I would say so because there avarage crowd this season runs at 28.8% of capacity whereas Stanley run at 43%

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!

but it should be done now and then as a point of principle IMHO.

Its all about the bigger picture I keep banging on about. The club NEVER seems to do anything about the bigger picture.

YES We would have a better atmosphere

YES The extra 1000 people would spend a few quid around the ground

oops thats where the argument falls down, cant spend it in any of the bars, the food bars are outside tenders, the programmes either run out or you cant find them.

But it help to bring in some new fans or bring back some old fans then its a goer.

Anyway Jay surely 1000 x £13 equals £13000?

:Banane57: i agree 100% with this but the problem is time .we need to advertise in every workplace pub every public place house in hyndburn has anybody said anything to the club..this would give the team a lift coming out to a packed fes with the majority home fans ..we are in the news again but lets capitalize on it no publicity is bad publicity cause we are back in the limelight bad or good we should invite the town to the fes charge a fiver even if only 20 people keep going thats 20 more than before lets build on it this is time to unite this is time to show evrybody that is against us what were made of the club the fans the players the manager everybody lets make a start at the torquay game lets not fall out of the league with a whimper if we do go down lets say we tried everything and not have any regrets frustration is the worst thing to live with so cmon eric and co at least try and and invite the community the people who wouldnt normally come due to cost /other reasons
