Guess The Gate - Torquay

I think recent form and possible point deduction fiasco will see a drop in crowds, what do you think the gate will be for this match?
1985 for me but hoping for 3985 :D

Re: Guess The Gate - Torquay

Remember, this is a handy game for Torquay's vast Scottish support:D, Accrington is much closer to Glasgow than to Torquay. The North Glasgow Gulls will be down in numbers. I'm surprised it's not all ticket!

At one point (about september) I thought the two teams mightbe fighting it out for promotion. How things have changed. See you Saturday!

Being a dour Scotsman I don't have a sense of humour.:(
We are NORTH Glasgow Gulls! Glasgow Gulls are a different club.

Seriously, though, Torquay have a fairly big Scottish following. Possibly due to the popularity of Torquay for holidays in years gone by, and games in the North of England would bring out the kilted support. There is also a big Norwegian supporters club, but I don't know if they go to away games. I've only seen them at Torquay. Stanley had quite a lot of Scottish based supporters (Accies living in Scotland) when they played Partick Thistle in the pre-season.

Funny, I thought these guys supported Hamilton, however, I am sure you will be more than welcome at the FES as much as Accy supporters were made welcome when we played Partick pre-season.

Crowd - I hope we will see at least 2579 this weekend.

Golly Gosh! Once I warned you about the Scottish Invasion of Gulls fans you've acted pretty decisively to make sure you're not out numbered. Well done! I hope your fans. turn out in droves and there's a great atmosphere:)

One problem, what happens if we march down from Scotland and when we get there the ground is full?

Gulls fans from all over the place are making the effort to be there. Does anyone know if you have to get 'tickets', or do you just turn up at the gate.

As a Gull Supporter, I e-mailed Stanley to ask if the free admission applied to visitors. Rob Heys humourous reply said that it did, BUT as the idea was to generate a good atmosphere for the home side, no shouting was allowed from the away end. I promised we'd be as quiet as possible during the game! ;)

On a 'guess the crowd' note, earlier, someone reckoned the Torquay crowd would be 120. I reckon nearer 500, so I'll pitch my guess at 3856. What is the prize, and where do i collect it from? :D

Close, it was about 2.40 (ish) - we had just left the Crown Pub, bought a couple of great badges from a seller in the car park - and only just got in! Well worth it - even though we got drenched:Banane39:

Then back to the Crown to watch Rovers lose at home to the bottom side:eek:

sorry, but I work on one of the Clayton end turnstiles and we were still letting people in until 2.55 ish. We were told to stop admitting people at one point but that was due to a technical problem not full capacity. It was just before the minutes silence that we were told to close the turnstiles.
