Yeah I noticed earlier Bagpuss but I've only just got back on.I contacted a Mod. about it and he's having a look.You got slagged off unfairly and I deleted the said persons karma even though he is a Mod. so what it was very unfair and out of context and hope some other Mod. will read this thread and deal with the peron as I think it is out of order and he should not have been able to say what he said.:mad:

I think we all need to calm down and remember that this is just a forum.

I deleted mthead's post above due to the content of bad language, as outlined in the thread I have included.

Apparently, a senior moderator deleted the Wimbledon thread before it became silly and a general slanging match. That's it. No conspiracy. Nobody being banned. No bad feelings.

Let's face it. By tomorrow afternoon we'll all be concentrating on more important matters than this. :)

Fair do's,but the Wimbledon thread slanging match all started when a certain person slagged Bagpuss for something in his signature,which was totally out of the blue and no provocation,and the person is in a position of someone who should know better.Thats the bit what we are questioning as well as the deleting of the thread.Has the person in question got told he was wrong to do this in a position that he holds??:confused:

Well this is sad, just goes to show how people can get things so wrong.
It was I who removed the Wimbledon thread from the Stanley forums. The reason for doing so was because one of our well needed moderators had inadvertently compromised their identity and as some volunteer mods wish to remain anonymous then this really needed to be corrected, I’m sure most of you would understand without me having to explain, imagine if you were the volunteer you'll find it's often not a thankful job.

The thread in question was probably posted with good intention but from the word go members moaned about it being in the wrong forums and suggested that they were probably only spamming and therefore shouldn’t really be here, also members had a quiet unnecessary dig at the moderators and as a result prompted a reaction.
In total the thread had become trashed and with the privacy concern it was better/ simpler to just remove the thread rather than edit/ remove individual posts which would have generated complaints similar to what we have here.

I’ve said this before, if anyone has any complaint about moderator’s actions or what ever then contact admin, better doing that than creating new threads like this pointing the finger at the wrong mod and getting it wrong as we seam to have here.

Bottom line Len he had a pop at me from behind a moderators mask which then fell off as he attempted to do the same towards mthead.

Correct the original thread needed removing but IMHO the new thread was needed to answer some questions.

Sorry Len thats wrong,I know you can re-read the thread from the point the mod in question joins the thread, it is him who without provocation laid into Bagpuss.
To be honest the senior mods should make this so called mod appologise to Bagpuss even if it has to be in a PM.He wasnt involved in the thread,there was no arguements going on in the thread UNTIL he decided to slag Bagpuss off.POWER GONE TO HIS HEAD springs to mind:mad:

I think this thread has now run its course and there's nothing to gain from keeping it going.

Len has politely explained his actions and I posted earlier to explain a few things too. Let's leave it now and concentrate on what really matters.
