Posh face a trip to hell

From today's (Peterborough) Telegraph

http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/V...SectionID=5151

Looks like some of their team are getting their excuses in early :p

(Don't get confused by the inaccuracies, it's poor journalism all round :( )

Where did he see those "excellent set piece-routines"? I think they make it up when they don't know what to say.

To be fair it's a half decent article and not that far off the mark. If at all.

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

Well if they foresee a trip to hell, let’s give them one. This is a club that sees itself as something special even if it’s only in their own minds, posh my arse send them home Stanley and make their journey “point less”.

Do we?! We're mid table in the basement division, and we know about it.

It's a rubbish article, because ****ty little terraced grounds are football heaven to me, I love them.

You've got to laugh at the "no atmosphere" bit.

Good for you cock, have a good game and welcome to Accrington Stanley. :)

I laughed my head off at the article, I'm glad players hate coming here to be honest. Keep your money in your pocket Eric, and keep the ground a 'Living Hell' for away Teams :P

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

Made me laugh to, as i think the playing surface at the FES is kept in pretty good condition, at the end of last season our pitch looked better than Chelski`s, and as for no atmosphere which game did they attend to get that impression.

You'll have to get up North a bit more, hope you found us natives friendly. ;)

Mr Blackett seemed to be a bit mesmerised by the grass, do you not have it down South?

Nice flags BTW.

I`m sure Posh keeper "Bonnie" Tyler will never forget his trip to Accy.
Anybody time how long that went on for ?
Nice display of flags Posh but not a lot of noise.
Then again you were being outplayed for the majority.
Couldn`t of had a better day for a trip to a lovely open plan stadium.
And no puddles to wade thru in the car park, keep your little posh feetsies nice and clean.
Welcome back next year.
Happy Easter.

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

well to be honest, your stadium was crap, your pitch was crap, the best thing bout accrington was the trip home wen we saw Stand Athletic, anyone know what happened to them because me and 2 others had a nice little look inside and saw he stadium which was nearly as big as your stadium.

You have to ask yourself something though to get a reality check POSH_DINEO. Where has your club come DOWN from? Where has our club come UP from?? Somewhere similar to Stand Athletic thats where...

wat do u mean, i am actually really interested because i have never heard of thm, and ppl i was with hadn't either, were they a lower league team or was tht where accy played there games ages ago

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

Used to play on Stand Atheltic. One man wembley on sundays as my mate said it was an abandoned football ground. One week we turned up about 12 of us kicked about 6 footies over onto pitch from carpark, went through the turnstiles and there they were the magnificent Stand Atheltic playing Northern Foods or someone and probably realised we were the culprits cutting up the pitch every week. My mate is known for his white lies but that was hillarious. As for comparing it to stanley, posh - I think your slightly exaggerating. A bit of a sore loser.

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

Whys that? Coz he shows a bit of passion for the shirt he plays for? Or was it the fact he realised that its a game of 90 minutes unlike your team and grabbed our late winner?

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

That wouldnt happen as our centre backs dont 'eff up' as you so delicately put it, nor would Georgie Boyd be capable of scoring :D - thats the difference! I cant see where your coming from but I can see where your heading with that language.... troll

P.S you got ripped of for george boyd, £260k for one of the most overated players in the conference. He was crap at stevenage in big games and he was crap today. I'd have toddy every day of the week.

Posh fans really did not seem up for it, it was an awful atmosphere from our fans. Without wanting to look to pathetic for excuses, the distance/difficulty to travel didn't help things, and the early goal killed any chance of most Posh fans getting into the game.

Was a good experience, just hope we got some decent photos.

As for the 'cock' thing, I'll now know how to take it next time one of my pupils calls me a cock:D. Slightly scared that one of you knows that I live in Sheffield...

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

is it me or does this thread not make sense??/ has there been some posts deleted??

I spoke to quite a few "posh" supporters before and after the match and they thoroughly enjoyed it except for the result, they were more miffed off with their back 4 not performing... but enjoyed their visit to our tinpot stadium :D and I had warned them about the pitch before and they commented after they thought it was in quite a good condition albeit not very level :p

To be fair, we came from pretty much the same place as you, we just didn't go bust when we probably should have done in the late 80s. We have no ground, no youth and not even a reserve side.

Apart from 2 seasons in the early 90s in Division 1, we have been very much a bottom division side since we entered the league 46 years ago.

No worries. :) I don’t think Posh fan’s need to feel too bad about the day, our lads are finding their feet after a rough spell and people have forgotten just how good we can be. I was very impressed with the flags you lads brought, class. :) <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

yep george boyd must be crap, i think the best player in the game was mark tyler, some of the saves he made were top class, shame your keeper didnt have much to do apart from pick the ball out of the net. good luck for the rest of the season though

Actually your three centre backs were hilarious, have they never played together before? Thought when Futcher was urging them out and the other two were going back was funny, but the appeal for offside when they did manage to work as a unit topped it, your No.2 having decided to stand 10 metres behind them.

They don't like being run at either, do they? :)

Ferguson would be better nipping to Ikea and buying 3 big wardrobes.

POSH_DINEO 08-04-2007 14:49

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

yeah they were shocking and blackett and morgan have been good this season, futcher is jus **** anyway, doesnt jump for balls. wat i meant by ur keeper picking the ball out was, out strikers didnt make him work, ur strikers should have scored atleast 6 but didnt hit tyler all the time and half the time missed the goal completly. no wonder ur team was in debt. u must have lost 8 balls yesterday

once before I think. Blackett is new and has just returned from 3 games suspended, Morgan is new and been on international duty, Futcher is rubbish, and has been in and out of the team.

I think you're confusing us with someone else, Stanley are not and never have been in debt (at least not since we went bust in 62)

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

yes, sorry my mistake, but honestly do u have money to throw away, those balls arnet cheap and if u getting jus over 18 hundred to each game u cant be gettin loads of revenue.

harwood red 08-04-2007 19:19

Re: Posh face a trip to hell

practically every ball is collected when it goes over.... even the ones that went on the stand roof I saw being collected during the match...it might just be the ones that land in a garden we might struggle to get back :D
