According to Jon Anderson of Yes Fame the song went:

"On Stanley, on lads, on Stanley on, we'll never quit yet, until we get that ball into the net, and so it's on Stanley on lads, we'll fight until we've won, we'll never ever la la la la..so it's on Stanley on'. He'd forgotten the rest of the song.

Based on the soundtrack of my Football Phoenix video where clips of the old record are to be heard that's about as much as I know though I thought the word "quit" was "rest".

Does anyone know the song in full or if the old record is available on DVD?

The bit towards the end should be "we'll fight until we've won, we will never be downhearted, so it's on Stanley on'

I actually have a copy of a cassette by Red Dawn with the song on, which was re-released in the late 80s (I think). I know ex-Stanley official photographer Terry Slinger was involved in that project.

I seem to recal my dad having it on an old 78rpm record, so there could still be copies around. Have I also heard it played at the Crown ground or is that my aged imagination?

Terry Slinger produced it and would probably be able to have it remastered should anybody want a copy.

Sung it lots of times and don,t remember a line that says "We,ll never be down hearted". What I remember the last two lines being were
" So on Stanley on lads
On Stanley On"
But it,s a looong time ago so!!!
