Elsewhere in the basement ...

There's been plenty of talk here about Boston and Chester, but there's other critical stuff today ..

Can Torquay with the pressure gone stop Wrexham's mini-revival ? :)

Will Walsall and Swindon do what they should and keep Bury and Mansfield's awful run-ins awful ? (I want to start cheering to keep Bury up, but daren't yet)

And will Rochdale do us a favour by keeping Macc down on 47 points ?

All will be revealed as I drive back to Pompey after playing hockey in London - hope I stay on the road when we score !

Re: Elsewhere in the basement ...

Well Bury and Boston were party poopers today, Rochdale surely obliged, but Torquay didn't. Who would have predicted those results today.

To be fair, most of the posters on blue and amber, thought you were unlucky. Earlier in the season, if we didn't have bad luck, we woudn't have had any luck at all. I hope you enjoyed your day with us, and although we are hopelessly out of form at the the mo, we'll do our best to best to beat Wrexham on Toosday, in the "Welsh" derby. Cumru Am Byth. ;)

Well I'm jiggered if I cn find where you are 'chatting' Jaytee. I must've looked on about four different sites and no-one seems to be commenting on anything from the past month or so!

If it stays like this and we win or draw Sat we stay up simple

We lose sat and Boston win we go into bottom two and need a win or a point to stay up x unless Boston win by more than 17 goals.

You just need to beat Macclesfield on Saturday and you are safe bar a ridicolous set of results last match

But if Boston win their 2 games we still would need a draw at MK Dons

Not really. You could lose your last game and Macc win theirs to be level on points. But the combined goal difference would have to 13 goals in favour of Macc. ie they win 7-0 and you lose 6-0, not going to happen surely :)

Yeah - we're only used to promotion battles. No excuse, I know because even so the maths are the same at both ends of the table.

Two possible combinations to make us safe next Saturday night - we win :) .....

or we draw and Boston lose at home to Torquay

If Boston still have a home by then.
Their programmes look to be replaced by the Big Issue!

Seriously though, that isn't the way I want us to stay in the league. I'd prefer the honourable thrashing of Macc.

Hang on, I've found another one - we draw, Boston draw, Wrexham lose. They'd both be below us and any result next week would keep one of them there.

But thinking positively - after we beat Macc, we could well be 18th tomorrow night and likely to finish there, never mind just safe.

Keeping the faith ... :D
