Just over £50 saving on a terrace season ticket, plus you get the youth/reserve games too (if you can get to them).

Worthwhile having a season ticket now.

Might hang on to see if we're League or Conference next season before buying one ;)

Bit more than £50, more or less £60 according to my maths

Out of curiosity how many season tickets do they sell ?

Jimbo T Hornblower 24-04-2007 14:33

Re: season tickets for next season

Usually around the 3 to 4 hundred mark - if someone knows better please feel free to correct me if Im wrong on that. With the reduction in price and the 10% off in the club shop along with the other benefits, we might sell more next season. Fingers crossed.

Do they have facilites to spread the cost ? I've just got mine for next season at the place of worship and paying over 10 months. I realise ours are dearer but I wouldn't be able to afford one otherwise.

Is there a call for Stanley fans doing this ? May sell a few more perhaps ?

I cant afford 1 season ticket up front just like that & would be even worse having to pay for consessions season ticket on top of that:(

Norwich also let you pay over 10 months-if that sells another 50/60 Stanley season tickets must be worth it.

Jesus Christ!

What do the people of Accrington want?.....Football league and Free football!

It's simple, if you can afford it makes sense to buy in advance and assist the club with it's cash flow, saving as you go!

If you can not afford, then pay as you go!

If you still want to moan, then go watch cricket or something!

This is good commercial sense from the club!!

accymel 24-04-2007 15:07

Re: season tickets for next season

Not exactly moaning but looking at other ways at generating the season ticket into more functional ways of getting more people to take one up - which would make better commercial sence !!! I take it you have no problems with affording a season ticket Redskin:rolleyes:

Same ones every time. They moaned when it was a free game, They moaned when under 12s get in for free. Now they moan because season ticket prices have gone down.

I consider myself quite fortunate and will purchase in advance, however if I could not afford, then I would simply pay on the gate as my financies permitted.:o

Where else can you watch your home town club play in the football league?

I do not work for the club. I pay to watch Stanley home and away. I just find it hard to read you moaning every time something is given for free or cheap.

You can pay weekly for a season ticket. Just give them the money on the turnstiles LOL

Cool Redskin:D

As it stands i regularly go to home matches as finances permitted pay on the gate - even had the 1 or 2 away match thrown in, but quite like the idea of spreading the cost season ticket plus keeps money coming in regular thro out the season, would be especially useful for those who have concessions to fork out as well - could encourage a few more season ticket holders which is what i presume would be good for the Club & stanley as a whole:D

Mmm i find it hard that a Stanley fan would berate another so easily, like on previous threads, opologies for saying about employment & u dont work for the club actually a good job, maybe keep off if u find it hard to listen to me be constructive then u wont put off other potential fans with your reaction.

Hehehehe nice attempt at humour :rofl38: i think they call it gate not season ticket:rolleyes: :D Think of it one way ..... theres no footy after 2 weeks throughout the summer - even if the cost could be broken down into monthlys during that time from now till season starts. Thing is Poppy as much as there maybe so called moaners like me about the prices & wanting to support the team, there is also so called moaners about people not supporting their home team, not putting money into stanley - going elsewhere, apathy, supporting regularly etc ....... so which is it ??? LOL:p :D

Believe it or not WE do support the same team aka STANLEY:D

Re: season tickets for next season

I couldn't afford one up front last season, but this year my circumstances have changed and I'll be getting one.

The point of season tickets is that the fan benefits by paying less over the season, while the club benefit from money up front. That's how the world works. People who pay cash for an item pay less than those buying on HP.

I've been critical of the club on numerous occasions, but I agree with Poppy in the view that moaning about prices actually coming down is just ridiculous. Seems like the club can't win.

Cool TM:D

Think as i tried to explain to poppy as to what deems as moans in another point of view deems as constructive idea which was the case, if it stays as it is then also fine, as i said will continue next season as this one & i did thank god that the gates weren;t changing - so thats cool. Tho i think people are too quick to jump on me cos im open voiced about my views or ideas - some have worked for fans favour where club had listened & some not well recepted but thats life, yes the club is a business like owt else & good or bad ideas should be discussed or explored, im not asking for free admittance on saturday im payin in LOL!!

ps soz a little off topic quiz working now TM :D

Where does Mel actually complain about the prices coming down ? She is actually suggesting alertnative methods of payment for those like herself who would love to commit to a season ticket and can't afford it. That doesn't mean it has to be the same price as those paying cash up front and I'm pretty sure anyone who pays by installments wouldn't expect it.

Quote:

Isn't one of the points of season tickets also that it gives fans the chance to commit there support ? As far as I know Stanley needs committed fans, or has that changed now ?

Quote:

Harping back to a discussion weeks ago which wasn't actually complaining about kids being free but that the rules had changed over the season about how that operates.

Good idea, Mel get a season ticket down the road where they are better value for money, and less than half price for your soon to be 12 yr old. :D

If dealing with a 'professional' club you would both be correct. Alas, this is Accrington Stanley we are talking about. Last season I bought two season tickets, one for myself, one for my son, at a total price of just over £400.00. Three games into the season the club brought out a 'Family Ticket' giving a discounted price for an adult and child, thus devaluing my season tickets. Further into the season they announced free admittance to under 12s and the junior membership scheme, then we had the free game against Torquay, both of which devalued the season tickets even further. I will certainly not be buying a season ticket for next season off this tin-pot outfit.

I know there have been massive mistakes (can we call them that?) this season concerning tickets, amongst other things, and I do sympatise with you.

The club officials have said on numerous occasions that they have learnt alot this season, often from mistakes they have made. Hopefully they have learnt not to alienate their core support and 'reward' the faithful for their loyalty.
I'm prepared to believe what has been said and put my money where my mouth is. However, I can understand those that decide not to do so.

Aye Yerself good point that was verge of another point i got trashed upon in the U12 thread - my main point being that the club changed its policy without much of a warning, when the family ticket was replaced quietly also & as my child turns 12 a bit way thro the season that was my point about the value in getting a consession one this year, but interesting point from opposite end of the scale.

Are the club going to stick through their policies next season without chipping & changing like this one has:confused:

PS to clarify for those that dont know me well or my way i can appear to be brash/harsh or direct in my comments, its not meant in malice or bad tempered or even complaining tone, im just a straight to the point no messing with no round the houses typing kinda person, just say what i think & hard to express on mailing format to which everyone reads differently & this has been pointed out to me hence the explanation just so those that have found me the latter gets me:D

I am lucky enough that I will be able to purchase my season ticket once again, however when do I buy it you may ask??...note that the reduced price is to be bought before 5th May (final match of season) so those that want to wait to see if we stay up or not and it goes down to the final mathc...beware as you won't get the discount!

Nice thought, but the bloody e-mail link is not even set up yet, typical. To add my twopenneth to the argument re season tickets, I am slightly lucky in the fact that I get a concession for my partner (disabled and I get in free as a carer), however, for the majority of this season, and certainly since the Torquay away match, I have benn selling 50/50 draw tickets with Mrs Ozzy so now we don't even need to use the season ticket. But I will still purchase one for next season if and only IF I can e-mail Vicki.
Maybe should e-mail Lee in the Stanley Store to pass on.

No LancsDave, last year anyone who had had a season ticket the season before(our last in the conference) got the chance to buy them at the same price we had paid then which was brilliant for me & my two lads. So even though the price has been reduced from last seasons full prices, it's still an increase for some of us. (Npt moaning - just trying to explain :) )
