rules is rules

But the bit about getting wet is absolutely spot on, you are better off stood up than sat down when its raining. I have never understood why any club would put seats on an uncovered end. Do they expect global warming to produce Californian weather soon?

does that mean all league football is going to become bland with no atmosphere you dont see them telling everybody to sit down at the last night of the proms when rule britannia comes on or when they are singing the national anthem come to think of it or at old trafford or anfield :( :( have you ever tried to bang a drum sitting down;)

I think that one of the reasons why they are sometimes strict about the standing is that people do not try to stick to one person per seat. If an aisleway is meant for 20 people then only 20 people should go in it, also the walkways and steps should be left empty. If this is adhered to they tend to be a bit more lenient with you.

It was quite funny at Bournemouth that we seemed to have about 3 people per seat on the back row! But it could be dangerous.

Its just the way of the world now that everything is governed by health and safety legislation and politcal correctness. please do not ever put seats in at the Clayton End but feel free to entirely seat the away fans - and do not ever build them a roof.

That's probably because there aren't any seats in the bit of the Albert Hall where the Promenaders (i.e. walkers !!) go ;) !!
