Contract rebels

Lancs Telegraph today quotes Coley as saying that the conract rebels have been given until friday to agree their deals or the club will make the decision for them. Amongst the out of contract players are Peter Cavanagh, Andy Todd and Jay Harris. Coley goes on to say that one or two of the fans favourites may have to move on.

Why won't they sign mate? Are they after more money or longer contracts?Am I right in thinking Stanley deal with 1 year deals rather than offering 2 or 3 year deals?

I say this every year, but if they don't want to play for the club then they are better moving on.

Stanley will give longer contracts when necessary e.g. Boco and Procter

Have Mango and Browny signed yet?

Re: Contract rebels

If I remember rightly we had trouble getting Harris to sign at the beginning of last season. Cav is a member of the worst defence in the Football League and as such I think he should count himself lucky that he has been offered a new contract. Toddy lives a long way from Accy and that could be his reason for stalling but I still think he should stay loyal to Stanley for at least another season.

Brown and Todd please stay. Cav you have had your day I am afraid. Mangan is more interested in his ever growing collection of red cards. Harris have you had any better offers? No? then get signed or get on the dole. Mullin can we get another year out the old gent? I hope so.

Re: Contract rebels

7 yet to sign I think are-
Cavanagh-average he probaly needs us more than we need him-
Ventre-not good enough-
Richardson-same as Cavanagh-
Todd-would like to see him sign purerly on effort in games-
Harris-lot of potential not quite there yet up to the lad-
Mangan-lucky to be offered anything would'nt miss him-
Brown-probaly the most talented of the lot lazy player needs to play more hope he signs and pulls his finger out.

I personally hope Todd and Harris stay. Not sure about the rest of them. Mangan def not as he cannot control himself on the pitch. No use to anybody if your banned all the team.

Andy Todd would be missed.

We should be able to get over the others.

Will they get over leaving Stanley?

To be fair, Cav has been a revelation since coming back from injury. I have been a regular critic of him, but credit where it is due.

Re: Contract rebels

they should also consider the 'Coley curse'

People who leave here tend to get career threatening injuries not long after breaking into the teams they go to. Didn't happen last season though, as it tended to be the players he had that got injured!

Your right, I remember a game when he was probably still injured and got skinned time after time down the wing, cant remember who against, but he has played well since coming back.
