Morcambe at wembley

Am i the only Stanley supporter going to Wembley on Sunday ?

Shame on you all, why not get behind Morcambe for the big game ( they always show support to us )

Easier travel to Morcambe than Exeter.

Look for me on TV, only one with a Stanley scarf !!

no its no shame on us whatsoever, we haven't all got £25 spare for a ticket, £30 for the coach and then £50 for a day out. I spend enough money watching Stanley as it is, without big expensive trips like this. I'd rather leave my first Wembley experience until Stanley get there thank you.

when? I remember half a dozen once coming when we played Lancaster at home. This has been reciprocated many times over as it is. Whose flags do you think they were waving against Hereford last year?

I'd prefer Morecambe than Exeter for lots of reasons, and if they were playing at home, and if I had nowt better to do that day, then I might have gone to watch and I might even have cheered for them. But I wouldn't spend a hundred pound doing so.

Shame on you for not coming to the OSC meeting on monday, shame on you for never offering your services when we are giving out leaflets, shame on you for never getting off your R.S to do something for our club, preferring instead to criticise others.

Makes sense to hedge your bets by starting to support another club. Especially when you think there "might not be a Stanley in two years time"!! ;)

Ditto to what everyone else has said Denise! Enjoy your day out by all means and yes, most of us will be hoping Morecambe win for various reasons, but to come on here bragging about going and slagging off those who aren't/can't is well out of order:( - even for you!

Yes. Well done Morecambe. Rather travel there than do a 600 mile round trip to exeter. And should be a 6 point start for the Stanley!!!!!

Nice try, Denise. As you well know, it wasn't in one of your threads. It was in one of Tin Monkey's threads started on 19/11/06, entitled My Thoughts On Yesterday (Hartlepool). In one of your posts on this thread you said, "After speaking to Eric's son today, might not be a Stanley in 2yrs time."

Care to explain yourself?

So what did he say to make you believe him? If you are still standing by it, he must have been convincing.

Good ploy, Denise. You throw up a smokescreen, then you actually admit to what you originally said in the first place. Just one little thing, though...you haven't actually answered the question that I (and others) have asked. You were there when this statement was made and presumably, it was made in the context of a general conversation. So could you explain the circumstances and elaborate on what was said? And don't say, "you'll have to ask him". You made the claim on this forum and I'm asking you for your opinion...or has this also conveniently slipped your memory?

Re: Morecambe at wembley

Well, it's good to be back with you guys again and looking forward to re-new our friendly banter over the coming season.

What can we expect?

From listening to Coley on the radio, a season of ups and downs by the sound of it.

As for our team, I expect there to be a number of significant changes in the squad. With our Chairman publically stating that money is already put to one side to strengthen the squad as well as significant ground development during the next 18 months, I would like to think that we will be in a mid table position (if not higher) come this time next season.

Improvements in the squad are certain. With Sammy having experience at this level, he knows what is required and he knows that without changes that we could struggle. With new players in defence, midfield and attack already identified the coming weeks will see a number of both comings and goings. Whatever people may think of Sammy, he's not afraid of making of making changes even it involves the departure of a number of crowd favourites.

Like you guys last season at this time, we can't wait to make our mark on league 2.:Banane09: :Banane09: :Banane09: :Banane09: :Banane09: :Banane09:

maccawozzagod 26-05-2007 08:24

Re: Morcambe at wembley

welcome back CC.

The difference between the two leagues is that here you can't get away with giving the opposition too many sniffs at goal, they do punish you for it. On the other hand they all have crap defences as well and a team that can get at em (like we do) will score goals.

Buckle up mate.
