Miles is good mates with Cav.....he was also doing a journalism course at Staffs Uni with a few other pro footballers....very good signing imo

Miles looked a real handful when he played at the FES and is an excellent signing. Just a shame he was such an arse in front of the fans when he scored the first goal.

Brilliant news!!! Well done Coley. Miles is an excellent signing and as for Carden, dont know a lot but sounds good and I trust Coleys judgement. Good news all round. (I was praying todays signing wouldn't be Branch) :)

Paul Carden good midfielder I remember him at Chester. Miles took both his goals well against us, but I don't think it was him being an arse when he scored I think it was McNiel

You could be right Jeff. Thing is, McNeil actually got the last touch on the first goal and it was credited to Miles.

From memory when I graced you with my presence at the Macc game, wasn't John Miles the number 10 for Macc ? ( Pretty sure he wore white boots if thats any help :) )

I said at half time he was running the game, so on the assumption it is the same bloke he looks a good signing for you.

Why are some people so certain Leam is going, we haven't signed another left back, really hope David Brown stays as well although with these 2 signings that could be doubtful :(

Also Carden has been called up for the england national game squad... to play in the four nations (thought that was rugby!!) in scotland this week..wonder if he still can with signing for a league team now!!! (no idea what the criteria for being picked for that squad are)

Am I right in thinking that Paul Carden is related to Simon who used to play for us and is now at FCUM? Seems to ring a bell that it's either his cousin or brother

Miles orchestrated Macclesfield's purple patch and it wasn't him who gestured at the Clayton End.

The first goal was his shot deflected in by McNeil's head and the second was made and scored by him.

He looks a great signing.

Carden must be useful if he was Posh's player of the year so recently. What was he doing playing in the Conference?

John Miles goals against us where both coming in from the right so maybe it is he who is to replace Todd and Paul Carden to compete with Proc and Jay for centre mid. If we keep Brown he will score the goals iv no doubt PS who should now take pens??

Great News at last to see some quality coming in instead of leaving. It was deffo Mcneil mouthing off to the Ultras and I`ve watched the replay over and over and I don`t think he even got a touch which makes him even more annoying. However we`ve got the class finisher not the kebab shop owner so good news.

A Burton supporting mate of mine told me this info on Carden

"He's a brilliant midfield who pulls the strings and has won us lots of points. Sprays the ball around well and is a nice defensive midfielder. Someone said we averaged 2 points a game since we got him.

Our fans are gutted he's going. Especially as it said in our local paper on Thursday that he was driving to Burton to sign his new deal that day. Ah well."

One of my mates is a rochdale fan and he said that Carden played with them a few years ago and is a good player. thought miles played well against us great finish

As a macc fan this is my honest and true assesment of Super Jon, he is a class act on his day but sadly his day is few and far between in the main he looks unintereseted and drifts in and out of games. he has undoubted talent and 2 great quick feet the 1 thing he lacks is pace with pace and a good work ethic he would of played at a much higher level. He was 1 of the main reasons we stayed up but only in the last 5 games, in the last 3 hyears he has only played well when his contact has been up for renewal. He came to us as a forward but played right wing, great footballing brain and a good finish on him, very much a confidence player, doubt he will set the world on fire, macc fans are divided some not arsed to see him leave others gutted! Very lightweight and easily bullied out of games. I am sorry to c him go has the rare ability to unlock defences with 1 pass.

I'm pretty optimistic about the report on Miles.
He sounds like the type of player that Coleman & Bell can get the very best out of and I think he can learn a lot from Mullin aswell.
