my personal favourite would be after the Carnival. Its gonna be a long day for those involved and could be good way to unwind (if Mrs Macca lets me/us)

Any thoughts anybody?

Yes's, nos's? three bags fulls'?

harwood red 24-05-2007 18:20

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I would go for that rob but we prob would have had a few drinks after anyway...in previous years the stanley pub crawl has started early pm and gone on till mid evening...plus I reckon after the carnival we might just crawl to one pub and not get much further :D

Well we will have to make our minds up soon, so anymore ideas or should I start a poll, giving a few options??

Red-Osbornello 24-05-2007 18:32

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I'd agree with Lesley. I will still go et leathered (as always) after the carnival, but we can make the crawl itself longer on another day...

Then we get two days of heavy drinking :D YEY!

harwood red 24-05-2007 18:36

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Oh stuff it, thought I would do the poll now, so get your votes in... I have kept it open for a week...now which do I go for??

Ooo and forgot to put that you can choose more than one option if you're not bothered which date

Kisser 24-05-2007 21:59

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Great - the annual pub crawl event! Can't wait lol. I will be there any date except 23rd June as that is the date of my birthday party :)

harwood red 24-05-2007 22:29

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Well I'm not gonna pick your party weekend either kisser with me being out of the country too.... so your party is safe :D

If all 3 dates are ok with you then you can vote for all 3 :)

Kisser 24-05-2007 22:31

I will check the dates as soon as I get home at the weekend but dont think I have anything planned...

Doug 24-05-2007 22:34

I'm up for this one but I'll need the dates as soon as so I can ensure I'm not on call......:)

and I'll actually turn up. ;)

harwood red 24-05-2007 22:41

Re: Stanley pub crawl

It will only be one of the 3 dates on the poll doug

Red-Osbornello 24-05-2007 23:35

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I'd personally prefer not the 30th. The other 2 are fine :D

You know you can't have a good knee's up without me ;)

maccawozzagod 25-05-2007 11:59

Re: Stanley pub crawl

deffo Carnival for me as I will struggle to have 2 booze-ups without Mrs Macca having a strop. Plus it gives any outta townies like Doug and Wynonie the perfect excuse to visit, see the great Accy CARNIVAL, visit the OSC stall and spend loads, go get hammered with their fellow webbies and Stanleyites!

the other alternative date would be the 30th (Mez?) when the monthly Accy Web meet (party) is held at the clubhouse. Good excuse to get a few extra to each. Accy Web meet starts off as a pub crawl before settling somewhere for the night.

Red-Osbornello 25-05-2007 16:57

only 13 votes so far!!!!

don't complain if its not the night you wanted!

but for 13 people it may be swayable anyway

harwood red 25-05-2007 18:13

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I wouldn't mind but I did the poll so you could vote for more than one and then I went and only voted for one:o ...so if it's a tie between 2 dates I think I should get the deciding vote :D

Haz66 25-05-2007 18:16

Re: Stanley pub crawl

i`ve gone for the 7th July as thats the only one of the 3 i can make, so if it ends up being one of the other dates no worries, theres always next year.

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Hi HR - I have voted for 30th June as I have organised a Hen Party on 7th July which I forgot about (doh!) and don't really fancy it after the carnival as the Message Board do is usually an all-dayer.

HAHA, nooooo - not mine silly. The Chief Bridesmaid organises Hen Parties, and I am chief bridesmaid at my friends wedding in August! You wouldn't half give Guy a fright lol.

cmonstanley 26-05-2007 16:28

Re: Stanley pub crawl

i reckon you should have it at the carnival to coincide with the membership push have a beertent at the carnival and try and raise some funds for the osc get cheap a supply of beer from somewhere loads of members fraser the eagle music playing stanley song some banners from the ultras make it an all dayer plus create an interest in the local community bobs your uncle..it is supposed to be about accrington stanley:) :) :Banane17: :Banane17: :Banane17:

Kisser 27-05-2007 10:34

Re: Stanley pub crawl

But the message board pub crawl is just that - a pub crawl. We can do all the above at the carnival and have the pub crawl another time.

harwood red 27-05-2007 10:37

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I started the pub crawl a couple of years ago as a way of stanley friends meeting up out of season and catching up on any gossip, stanley or non stanley :D

If it is a draw between carnival and 30th June not sure if I should still do both

Kisser 27-05-2007 10:39

Re: Stanley pub crawl

I think seen as youre organising it HR you should just tell US a date and those that can be there will. I will come to any, apart from the 7th July, but would just rather it not be carnival day - but thats up to you. Just tell us a time and a date and we'll be there. You can never please everyone.

The idea as mentioned before is getting together during the closed season to catch up and it's an all day thing not after a match...we can do that during the season :D

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Ok the poll has now closed and its a dead heat between carnival day 16th June and saturday 30th june...

well I did say if this happened I would make the final decision..no moaning please..

the stanley pub crawl will be on ........

Saturday 30h June... time and starting place to be confirmed soon.

Ok picked this date cos I reckon the carnival date takes away the idea of the pub crawl starting during the day!!

cmonstanley 31-05-2007 22:54

Re: Stanley pub crawl

i think this is an opportunity missed you could have started during the day at the carnival you could have helped the osc organise a beer tent and started from there :cool:and then help the osc raise funds..

harwood red 31-05-2007 23:01

Re: Stanley pub crawl

Unfortunately it's not that simple to set up a beer tent...there's the whole licensing issue for selling beer...plus if there was a beer tent I'd never sell anything on the OSC stall :D

cmonstanley 31-05-2007 23:11

Re: Stanley pub crawl

fair enough but it would have been a good idea maybe one for the future a joint venture with the club and osc involved:)

Kisser 01-06-2007 08:51

Re: Stanley pub crawl

The message board pub crawl is a completely seperate event from the carnival, something that was started a couple of years ago as just that - a pub crawl. An out of season chance for us all to get together and have a few merry bears on a Saturday that would normally be spent at the footy. Great idea Harwood Red and will see you on the 30th June. Same time, same place?! Oh except that the Crown is now shut! Where are we meeting then, Oakleigh at, say, 1pm?

Glad I can't make it if you're having a few merry bears! Sounds pretty frightening to me. I will think of you all when I'm drinking beer in Austria.

Right people subject to accyjay giving the nod I reckon we all meet in the oaklea at 2pm for the start of the pub crawl... and we won't be there after 3pm... if you can't make it by that time pm me for my mobile number to find out where we are on the day...

and we will finish the pub crawl at the stanley sports bar for the start of the accyweb meet see:
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...-up-31291.html

Would love many of you to come along to the evening meet too, as you can see our very own pete will be entertaining us too :D

Note that partners are welcome to come along to both the pub crawl and accy web meet :)

THE MORE THE MERRIER I SAY... and also more money behind the bar at stanley in the evening

Did mrs pete (sparkie:sarah) sing? she is every bit as good as pete and did a song on friday night that had one punter almost in tears.... What was that song sparkie. I quite liked it myself.

A very talented couple...If they brought out a CD between them I would buy it.. thats truthfully.. I don't say things like that for effect... I really would.
