This is an excellent move by the club - the story IS CONFIRMED in the Observer and they are looking to either buy it outright or to lease it from Punch Taverns. It would be VERY, VERY good news if it was to be run exclusively for Stanley Coffers as this would enable them to not have to build a bar at the Clayton End (external of the ground) as they planned to do. If this deal happens quick enough they may be able to get the clubhouse converted to hospitality before the start of the new season. Rob has just been on 2BR stating that the clubhouse is being done up over the summer - this would be wasted money if they were then gonna rip it out to convert it.

Couldn't you just knock out a wall and watch the match from the pub? No need to spend all that time walking when you could be drinking.

This could be a great move for Stanley. This is exactly what happened at Burton Albion. It gave plenty of extra room for corporate hospitality eg. £25 a head pre-match lunches. The crown would also be more likely to attract people mid week. The club would still be available for functions I'd imagine.

dont know if its a done deal but on way bak from footy training tonight i saw the woman incharge of the clubhouse (hazel) going into the crown so its looking like it is not sure tho
