Pre-Season freindly at New Mills

Hi,

It is yet to be confirmed at your end but i think you may be coming down to New Mills A.F.C. on Tuesday evening, the 17th of July for a pre-season game.

New Mills finished fourth in the second division of the North West Counties but i think we have lost only 3 of our last 30 games.

The forum with travelling info can be found here - nonleaguezone.com :: View topic - Location of Church Lane and other Travelling Info

Although i guess you will have to exit the ringroad at Brebury (20 mins from NM)

And the website can be found here -
www.newmillsweb.com/nmafc

Look forward to your visit and feel free to contact me on here or at nonleaguezone.

Cheers - The Amber Army

t'other side of Stockport on a tuesday night.

hope you enjoy the game but I wouldn't hold up much hope of a large travelling contingent. Expect about 30 i would imagine.

They won't be until the highlights have been shown on Sky just after 10

It'll be interesting to see what type of team we had out.

According to the New Mills site, we were set to take a 'strong squad'

Not sure how full strength your squad was, but it was a good work out for both sides, and a big thank you to Accrington Stanley for coming down.

No first teamers from last season playing.. New signings and trialist.

Highlight was late in second half when Martin fearon made a quadruple set of saves.. 4 in less than 4 seconds... You see them on TV and they call them double saves... Martin did 4 and got the biggest round of applause of the night from the whole ground...

Re: Pre-Season freindly at New Mills

Team full of trailists really except for Paul Carden who played as skipper for fully 90, Branch played second half and a very impressive Martin Fearon played about 80min.
New Mills took the lead from a corner that was bundeled in then the traialist who had the two free kicks against Burnley tipped over equalised. Not too sure how as I was in the loo.
Second half New Mills again took the lead when a cross from the left was knocked back across goal for a tap in.
Martin Fearon then made 3 brilliant saves in quick succesion before a youth team player I believe to be Chris Turner equalised from 20 yards out.
New Mills missed a hand full of chances and The Reds had a clear spot kick turned down, In the end a fair result.

Cheers. Is that a decent sort of crowd for those blokes?

A pleasant evening out. Highlights were Martin's four successive quick-reaction saves (I think Tony got them all) and our second equaliser - straight into the top corner, possibly from more than 20 yards out.

"Those blokes" had an average gate of 165 last season, so it was slightly up.

Not bad for a level 10 team.
