Carl Baker bid

According to todays non-league comic (I know...old habits die hard!) both our clubs have put bids in for Carl Baker the Southport player. However one of us has bid £3K which their manager has described as taking the p***. :p:p:p

Wonder which of us is taking the p*** ?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Their manager seems to think that the figure should be comparable to that of George Boyd and Craig Mackail-Smith, both of whom went for six figures.

Erm...excuse me... but who IS taking the p***??????:confused::confused:

Their manager, if he's expecting Carl Baker to go for six figures.

He's a good player with immense talent but i'd rather spend the six figures elsewhere. Preferably on a striker with league experience and can score out of nothing as we already have Carden, Proccy, Rommy and Jay Harris who can all play in the centre of midfield.

Now that's a PROPPER question alright. :D

Carl Baker would be a risk for any club and thinking he's going to go for six figures is simply silly talk.
I bet we've offered £3000 as an opening bid. It's the kind of thing we do. ;)

Did you start that thread on the Port forum then?

I always thought that you and my lot never discussed any bids or signings until everything was signed, sealed and delivered.

I suspect that this news about a medical is from somebody living in the land of hope rather than expectation.
