Re: New Striker!

come on he is proven in non-leauge. but with a dodgy knee i am sceptical. what happened to McGiven

Porky 18-06-2007 16:55

Re: New Striker!

Have we paid money for this lad as he was under contract at Afc Wimbledon scoring ratio in past about a goal every 2 games pretty impressive at any level.

maccawozzagod 18-06-2007 16:57

Re: New Striker!

was a good un at Aldershot until bad knee injury forced him to miss a lot of games. I'll reserve judgement but the lad had pedigree.

Nickelson 18-06-2007 17:01

Re: New Striker!

we need a proven striker at league level. besides it doesn't mention any money being paid for him :?

Nickelson 18-06-2007 17:13

Re: New Striker!

D'Sane was released by the Shots in May 2005 following his failure to recover from persistent knee injuries. quote from the bbc website lets hope he has fully recovered.

Re: New Striker!

Well I'll reserve judgement too, but I am quite optimistic.

He went to AFC Wimbledon to get his fitness back and scored 21 goals last season. Seems to have a good bit of fight in him.

Can play on the right side of midfield aswell I think.

Well done Coley.

this is the guy that torquay were trying to sign see text below:

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=629 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD colSpan=3>Torquay aim to bag striker D'Sane

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=416><!-- S BO --><!-- S SF -->Conference side Torquay United are interested in signing AFC Wimbledon striker Roscoe D'Sane.
The 26-year-old former Aldershot player scored 21 goals last season and is weighing up his options after also being offered a new deal by Wimbledon. D'Sane was released by the Shots in May 2005 following his failure to recover from persistent knee injuries. The ex-Southend man was Aldershot's top scorer in 2003/04, with his 21 goals helping them reach the play-off final. <!-- E SF -->
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

sounds good to me but when are we gunna sign some defenders!

Well, thats one of the two that were given a medical.Wonder whats become of the other bloke?

Re: New Striker!

Looks like Coley's unearthed another Gem! Looking at his scoring record highly impressive hope he can make the step up but with a good pre season behind him don't see why not! Only thing that worries me is the amount of one year contracts we seem to be handing out okay letting people who are perhaps squad members leave for nowt but as the Todd situation proved you can also lose your better players for the same token. A couple of good defenders and I think we have the nucleus of a fine squad Roll on Next Season:):)

Re: New Striker!

Dsane was outstanding a few years ago. Fast and lethal. If he's refound that kind of form following a very nasty injury, then we've signed a real gem!

Welcome Roscoe. Show us what you've got! :D

Re: New Striker!

Like all new signings,I'll reserve judgement but seems like a good signing to me even if he is a southern shandy boy :). When I first read it I couldn't believe that he would move up here but then how could he resist, chance to play league 2 footy and now we can also offer him accomodation living in a pub!

Re: New Striker!

Hi an Afc Wimbledon fan here who also knows a director at Aldershot. Roscoe is a great signing for you guys. He was on course for league football after impressing at Aldershot before he got a bad knee injury. He returned to full fitness this year managing a full season with an impressive 21 league goals. The striker was clearly a cut above most others in our league and you got him on a free as his contract ran out in the summer. It is a slight gamble as he has had injury history (didnt see any last season though) and he has only performed up to conference level and that was 3 years ago but a free transfer is surely a gamble worth taking.

Re: New Striker!

kk but where is the defence we need defenders

he isnt that good cause he got released by shots but it is because of injurys

Ginger Womble 18-06-2007 20:50

Re: New Striker!

Aldershot stuck with him for a year while injured to try and keep him. When he made his comeback for the reserves about 3,000 Aldershot fans travelled to watch the game. Aldershot would have him back now and they had faith in him for wuite a while even while injured.

I think this is great news!!! I was always impressed whenever I saw his performances for the Shots. Is it me or can the phrase 'Coley never gives up on his targets' be applied to this signing as well? Im sure he expressed an interest a couple of seasons ago....

Sounds like another good signing by Coley, assuming that this new striker stays injury free.

Welcome to Stanley, Roscoe and good luck !!! :D:D:D

Re: New Striker!

yeah, if he stays injury free it should be a quality signing. i remember him causing us problems in the conference. you could say it's a step forward for us aswell, signing a player from the south!

Coleman on the radio last night said the Scottish defender was coming for a medical Wednesday (today) and he was hoping to sign another defender from the Conference.
Coleman also said that he was hoping to add 2 more signings before the season starts.

Re: New Striker!

Hereford fans on their forum are rubbishing, among other things Stanley, our signing of Dsane. However, whilst wondering how on earth we can attract southern-based players, they are extremely upset that they only have about 5 players signed up for the new season so far. They can't seem to come to terms, unlike us, with life at the, er, cheaper end of the tables.
It's not that I'm obsessed with the Hereford, just that I often visit their excellent Bulls News site, which is always very well informed on all things lower league. There is a link to the unofficial Hereford fans forum which I can't resist visiting for a good laugh!:)

Keep it on until you're sweating like a hog! ;)

One other thing which I forgot earlier, Coleman also said that he hoped to bring Godwin back for next season. Fingers crossed.
