away travel

is anybody in the know ref away travel this season? There's nothing on the fishy site to indicate whether Fase are or are not doing it and I have certainly seen nothing anywhere else.

Needless to say, if they aren't doing it then I'll try to get buses together for the closer games but long distance games will be up to somebody else I'm afraid.

Re: away travel

Fraser Eagle are doing it and it is on the official website..Where it says "Away Travel". :)

Re: away travel

it's the same page as last year, it contains no details of games or prices, there is no detail as to whether there will be a season ticket like last year - therefore I ask the question again, does anybody know if they are doing it this season?

Re: away travel

It's not the same page as last year because of all the reasons you list.. last years prices and info has been taken 0ff.. thus someone has taken the time to edit the page.. If they wern't doing it then there wouldnt be a page.. Give em time to set the away travel prices eh.. Season is nearly 2 months away :)

As for your question.. I repeat.,Fraser eagle are doing the away travel.. I typed that real slow :) :)

:stupid:

it was a valid question as I would imagine a company the size of Fraser the Eagle don't hang about waiting until the last minute to announce details of anything. As with anything Stanley the website is rarely the first to announce anything (and that is not a criticism of the webmaster :p) and the details for last seasons sponsorship packages was only updated this week even though folk have been taking advantage of various deals for weeks.

As I said, I would be willing to run coaches to several of the games but I would like to know well in advance so that it is not something that is suddenly sprung upon us and becomes another millstone around my neck.

Fraser had expressed concern at the lack of patrons last season and there was rumour that they may not continue with it, hence even more valid.

So stop being grumpy :)

It was a valid answer.. Fraser Eagle are doing the away travel.. You asked, I answered.. and really I couldn't have answered any more clearly..

You seem to have a problem with my answer but for the life of me I cant see why.. Why the nastiness Rob ?

It was a joke mate, I just forgot the smiley. You should know by now not to take anything I say seriously ;)

Re: away travel

by law of Kipax I used two smileys therefore negating any nastiness.

I wasn't having a go at all, just responding to your 'I typed real slow' quote (containing smileys!!)

Valid question, valid answer, end of story. Twas you took it further :p (nuther smiley making even less nastiness)

I think that would be excellent anyway for the derbies as both Bury and Rochdale are Saturday matches this season. I missed Bury away last year cos I was working but the Rochdale convoy was great.

If you could just arrange an extra bus to Rochdale this year though to transport the toilet rolls! :D

Re: away travel

Rob Heys has confirmed that Fraser the Eagle will be providing coaches again this season. They will also be looking to provide more basic coaches for the closer games in order to minimise the costs.

They would like someone to help organise coaches from the ground on matchdays, this would involve taking names and payments and then forwarding the details to Fraser during the week to update their records. For this it is probable that the travel co-ordinator would receive free travel on the coach to any away game they go to. This is subject to confirmation though.

If anybody is interested please PM me and I will forward you the details.

TBH, the prices for the Morecambe,Bury,Stockport and Rochdale matches all seem a little steep to me, considering the distances involved.....

Re: away travel

12 quid to Morecambe & 15 to Hereford?
Something doesn't quite add up there.

The closer games do seem to be quite expensive.

Tin Monkey 08-08-2007 20:03

Re: away travel

I think this has been said before. Aren't the closer trips more expensive to subsidise the longer away trips and make them a little cheaper?

No idea to be honest.

maccawozzagod 08-08-2007 21:25

Re: away travel

the only problem with that is that not everybody goes on all the trips. If everybody (or 50 people) went to most of the games on the coach they would understand and not mind. My thinking is that a coach company could make far more on the cheaper runs by reducing prices and taking far more people.

Over 300 went to Rochdale on the buses last year. If they all rely on making their own way they probably all wouldn't bother.

Re: away travel

Rochdale you can walk , thats what the ultras are doing! Lol and alot of the places you can get the bus!
