Re: Charity walk to rochdale

Sorry I am unable to do the walk but I have sponsored and would like to make a small point about the sponsor forms...

it says to tick the box if you want to gift aid your money that you have sponsored..this costs you no extra but for every £1 you have sponsored the charity can claim another 33p (may have changed recently) from the government as long as you are a tax payer...however, many tick this box but don't give their full address with post code. If you don't give this then the gift aid cannot be collected as you cannot be proven as a tax payer!!

Just a point I wanted to make so as much money as possible can be collected :)

Great point from HR. It's 27p for every pound but still well worth claiming. The chancellor's just protected it it for a year or two to offset the reduction in the basic rate of tax from 22% to 20%.
