18/07/2007: New pre-season friendly: Cable v. Accrington Stanley first team, Hope Street, Saturday 21st July, kick-off 2.00. Please note that is not a typo! Do not turn up for a 3.00 kick-off!

I used to live near Prescot too. Just down the hill in Whiston. I might pop over and pay a visit to my ex-in laws....... or maybe not :D

Unfortunately not. I did go in the Engineer once, before it was knocked down. To be honest, I never ventured up the hill that often. ;)

Wise man, I ventured in once (early 70's) forgetting its reputation, not the cleverest thing I've done. When I realised everything was bolted down, and the bar was equipped with metal shutters, I supped up pretty quick, and got out.

I actually quite enjoyed living over there, even though it was pretty non-descript. People were friendly and it was only 15 minutes on the train into the city.
