Len Spaans ( ossyclogger)
 

It is with great regret that I have to tell you all that Len passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer.
I know many of you knew he was ill but it came as a shock to both Len's family and mine.
I will post funeral details on here later when they are confirmed.

I never met ossyclogger but have had many an interaction with him on posts seemed a nice chap, hopefully he'll be watching over stanley this season too.

Only spoke to him Saturday, and couldn't give him the news of a win he wanted!!! I'll miss you loads buddy. Lindsey please pass on my condolences to your mum.

Thank you for your kind words and condolences; I have passed them on. It is much appreciated. The Club have kindly offered to have a minutes silence in Len's memory before the Man City game.
The funeral will be at St Mary's, Oswaldtwistle on wednesday at 10:30 if anyone wishes to pay their respects.

I spoke to Len on Tues night and He sounded very upbeat. So sorry to hear about His passing, He was a top bloke and will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences to His wife Pat, Lyndsey and all the family. Rest in peace my friend, it was a pleasure to have known you.

It was Len who bullied and coerced me into getting involved with the OSC, and I am sure that had ill health not have impeded him he would have been very active in the good things we are trying to do.

Len was a staunch Stanley fan and will be sorely missed by many. My sincere condolences go to all his friends and family.

Don't know whether I ever chatted to this Stanley brother at a ground here down south, but I always respected his posts. on this forum. May God bless you Len and give comfort to your family in their grieving .

I'm deeply saddened to hear about Len ; he was a good friend to me and to many more in the Stanley family , in fact he took the trouble to ring me just a few weeks ago to see how I was.

Typical of him to think of others rather than himself.

Len was a true stalwart of the Supporters' Club ; he helped the Club as much as his illness would allow - a remarkable effort which we all admired.

I'd like to add my condolences to those already posted.

To Pat and her family, to Len's family and friends both here and in Holland, I share your loss and will miss my mate "Ossyclogger" very much.

This is my first post. I would like to thank all who have offered their condolences to myself and family at this sad time. If any of you would like to pay their respects, you will be welcome at Oswaldtwistle Con.club after Len's funeral at 12 noon on Wednesday.

As you can see i'm not a Stanley fan & have never met 'Ossyclogger' but would like to add my condolences.
Such a shame for you to lose an obviously well liked & respected fan.

The past few seasons i have taken great delight in having a seat next to Len and Pat, with much friendly banter ( plus a few arguments ! ).
Len was a fantastic chap with a great sense of humour who did a lot for the club. He will be sadly missed by myself, my family and the rest of our little group in the stands. Our thoughts are with Len + Pat's family.

I must apologise for being so late with my condolences - was trying to catch up with all the news after being away, and this one obviously slipped through my net.

I never knew or met Len, but he sounded like a great guy and was clearly a very keen Stanley fan who did a lot for the club. My sincerest condolences go to Len's wife and family, as well as to all his friends.
