Your Tips for the forthcoming season ?

Well, with less than a fortnight to go before the new season starts, like many others I'm going to have a few Ante-post wagers on the coming season. I tend to stick with a Lucky 15 (for those familiar with that bet)
My tentative selections are:

Premier League : Manchester United (11/8)
Championship : Sheffield United (8/1)
League One : Notts Forest (11/2)
League Two : M.K. Dons (8/1) (Stanley 66/1 to win league, 14/1 to win promotion)

For relegation from their respective leagues:

Premier League : Birmingham (6/5)
Championship : Colchester (15/8)
League One : Cheltenham (11/8)
League Two : Macclesfield (5/1)

These are the two(seperate) bets I'm going to cover ( in the lucky 15 format) and I may well put a few quid on Stanley as they're an attractive price with my local bookies.

Any thoughts and your suggestions welcome !!:D:D

Stanley are an attractive price because they are not going to win the league, no disrespect.

You're just giving money to the bookie, and thats where he makes his money.

I wonder how many millions the betting industry has made this close season through Sunderland fans and other teams of their ilk, making bets simply because they have "great odds" of 1,000/1 or more? Throwing money away by the bucketload.

Prem - chelsea
championship - sheff utd
league 1 - cant say its to tight.
league 2 - wycombe

although - i woulnt bet on any of them. the odds wont be drastically different come january.

The best bet in my opinion is Chester to get promoted any means possible - 10/1 at ladbrokes.
I think chester have brought some real quality in this season - 2 excellent wingers in partridge and ellison.

I am also having a small punt on stanley being promoted at 26/1 ( 2 more quality defenders and a fit squad, they can push with strength in depth)on betfair, and crewe for promotion any means possible at 18/1. Crewe have brought cleverly and have as much chance of anyone - although any of 10 teams could win it and as many of 15 teams could go up.

PREM; Liverpool
Champ: Sheff Weds
League 1: Notts Forest
League 2: Milton Keynes Dons

For the drop...

Wigan
Scunthrope
Yeovil
and Macclesfield from our grade.

Arsenal will fail to qualify for ANY European competition and will finish mid table.

Hardly worth betting on Man u or chelsea-lucky if you will double your money.I've gone for Arsenal at 10/1 and Man City to finish 5th at 25/1.

I'd have Liverpool this year as well.

Man ure have bought too many players to an already succesful team.
Chelsea will still be in disarray although I expect Shevchenko to be better this year
Arsenal will be below Tottenham and Blackburn and West Ham will come close to the top 6

Bradford or Rotherham to fall straight through the trapdoor?

I thought only two teams could go up from div 1.

For anybody interested,Corals are running a handicap betting system on League Two. Stanley are Favourites to get relegated @ 7/2, Still 66/1 to win the league,14/1 to win promotion.
However, Corals are also running a handicap bet on league 2.Being favourites to be relegated,Stanley have a +32 handicap for the forthcoming season.Odds are a straight 18/1 to win the league(with the handicap) but you can also place an each way bet (Stanley finish 1st,2nd,3rd or 4th) after handicaps taken into account and you get 1/4 of the 18/1 (9/2 0r 4.5/1) If you think we're gonna have a good/reasonable season then it's worth checking out !!! :):):):)

My tips would be as follows :

Premier League : Arsenal
Championship : West Bromwich Albion
League One : Swansea City
League Two : Lincoln City (outside bet - Rochdale)

I know nothing about football and these are a complete shot in the dark, though I did tip Sunderland and Walsall to win their respective divisions last season.:D
