Pint anyone?

Just a quick point chaps to let you know that after each and every home game this season you can still get a pint in the new lounge, as long as you wipe your feet though, don't want a messy carpet !!

and a reminder for you fellas, if you want to have a beer and a buffet at anytime this year the lounge is still open to you supporters if you book in advance, any birthdays or occasions where you might be inviting someone down to watch, we can make it a bit special for you.

Just book it in with me and I'll fit you in, no problems.

However I know your all Clayton enders and a bit too die hard for this kind of thing, but the offer is there. Don''t forget there are no prawn sandwiches in Accrington only pies...

Lew,

Cheers for that information,

However please give us an idea of the cost per head.

Also will the be higher charges for the "high profile" matches, bradford, Bury, Stockport???;)

LewCarroll 13-08-2007 10:52

Re: Pint anyone?

Yes of course,

There is no extra charge for certain games, it's simply:

£35 for a buffet or £50 for a meal, but if you have a ticket already you can knock of that price.

So after that its £20 or £35 approximately, but it's not payo the door, because we have to know the amount coming in.

Is there anywhere for us to have a beer during the game now? If not are there any plans for a bar in the clayton end?

I'd hope they have provisions for smokers, they did at wycombe, raffle ticket handed to us on our way out and handed in on re-entering.

Simple.

Simple.

Certainly didn't happen on Tuesday night............a group of us asked to be allowed to go outside at half time for a ciggie only to be told that if we did we would NOT be allowed back in!!...................needless to say we all obeyed the Law.............;)

You used to be able to leave the ground and go for a pint in the Crown at half time. Things change, Move on.

what a load of 'poppy' cock, never mind move on there should be provision made. It would cost ****** all to put a stamp on a couple of dozen hands and allow people out for a smoke. The club is in danger of alienating absolutely everyone.

or build a shelter with no sides on at the other side of the wall at the cow shed with a door leading out therefore not contrivening football league rules cause it would be outside and make it heated like the one at the oaklea[we wish]:banhat::banhat:it would attract smokers from all over the northwest[if only dreams would come true]

three raffle ticket books, all different colours, one lets you get back into the clayton end, one back into the main stand and one back into the away end, not rockets science just a bit of forward thinking and thinking of the fans,

Same principal for the stamps on the hand :)

The stewards are all stood about looking for people smoking, why not let them do it, thats what there getting paid for isn't it, can't be hard to do can it - 1 person on each gate handing coloured tickets out and making sure he gets the same colour back before he lets you back in

Opps - forgot the :D

Re: Pint anyone?

I'm an ex smoker of 30 years, back then I would have found it difficult to stand around for 15 min kicking my heels whilst suffering the noise and dribble booming out over the loud speakers without the dreaded weed. However, it is a no smoking stadium, but that shouldn’t mean that either party should be discriminated against, I wouldn’t mind a corner sectioned off at the side of the bogs for smokers, nor do I see any reason why the gates shouldn’t be manned to let smokers into the car park for a quickie, we could charge them half a crown a time, we could buy some bloody cladding with the proceeds.

just use the two stewards that used to man the clubhouse entrance last season to let the fans in, they must be stuck without something to do now...

Re: Pint anyone?

When I was at the UEFA cup match between Molde and Rangers in Norway last year they let everyone who wanted to go out at half time for a smoke then let them back in and that was a far bigger crowd than the FES could hold and apparently that was normal in Norway. The same happened at the airport in Torp where you had to go out then back through passport control. Would it really be that hard at halftime at the FES to let people out for a smoke?

The bottom line to this question is no it wouldn't but why try to keep the fans happy?:(

No disrespect Philip@, but if Stanley are "looking into something", then on past record does that mean smokers will be catered for sometime in the next 3 bloody seasons!?

There have been 2 very easy solutions mentioned on this thread, and as we have Stewards posted on ALL exit gates throughout the match, then to my mind I fail to see the problem.

You have no chance of having a fag inside the perimeter fencing, it is a complete no-no. And correct me if I am wrong, but I believe if you leave the ground at any time before or during the match, you would not be allowed back in. Also, all these folk that fly off to sunny Spain, Tenerife etc etc, how do they do without a ciggie. When I was a smoker, I flew to Australia via Singapore and the shortest flight was 10 hours!! I managed though and soon as I was out of the airport or in the smokers area then I lit up. Come on peeps, its only 2 1/4 hours maximum for a game of footie including extra time, lets get things into perspective.

I fully understand your opinion Ozzy, and I also fully support the ban in pubs etc, however pubs etc have made provisions for smokers, it appears that the Football League has not, all that is being asked is for the Club to consider the possiblities and make an effort:).................lets be honest, we have ailienated fans big time this season, and if other clubs can/do accomodate smokers, then why not Stanley?

maccawozzagod 24-08-2007 16:09

Re: Pint anyone?

I'm in full agreement with UK Cowboy. It would be ridiculousy easy to accomodate smokers so we should. As mentioned other clubs accomodate us and STANLEY SHOULD. We cannot afford to lose those that would otherwise stay away because of it. It needs to be done straight away as well, just so that another argument doesn't rumble on.
