Season Tickets

I've heard a rumour that it'll be all pay on the gate on Saturday and that season ticket holders will then be able to claim back their entry fee at a later date.

Any one know if ther's any truth in that?

The season has gone well so far. Great new signings, roof to be completed after a long wait, and we went to Wycombe and we won 1-0. The season tickets WILL be ready in time!

Roof was due to be in place before the first league game. Now delayed. Season ticket due out before the first league game.

Fancy a game of "spot the trend"?

Fancy a game of "spot the trend"?[/quote]

ok then. last season the season tickets were ready just in time. They probably will this year-we'll have to see. If they are not ready it isn't ideal but we will get our money back at a later date.

We lost away on the opening day last year but won this year.

Last year the roof was just a distant fantasy but it is now being built. To me it would seem that things are on the up! We have to remain positive! http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...ons/icon10.gif

Re: Season Tickets

The tactic was to dangle the bait and see who bit. Of course I expect the season tickets to be ready for Saturday. But the point is a serious one. Why leave it so late yet again?

It's not as if the club are suddenly going to sell a couple of hundred more season tickets at this late stage. The powers that be will have known how sales were going weeks ago and should have ordered accordingly, so that we got our tickets in plenty of time.

Instead they pretend they can't be sure how many to order until late on and leave us with zero information, even though some of us stumped up our cash about 3 months ago.

We're talking about season ticket books for God's sake, not Gothenberg Bibles! How much can each one cost to print?

I'm all for saving a bob or two, but there are limits. It's the same charade every year and it p***es me off.

Nothing, thats not the point though, they should be sent out, I can see people having to collect them from the shop on Saturday, can you imagine the queues? your gonna get people queuing for season tickets, Stanley junior tickets will be available same time as season tickets and usual people inside the shop

I know that i wasnt given a Receipt. I payed by card. I think its terrible that they dont have them ready. When i went in to collect it the girl said 'they will be ready on sat' but thinking about it, how are they going to give them all out at before the match. they need to find the right ticket, make sure its the right person they are giving it to etc. and if they have sold more than 400 then its going to take a very long time and people will have to turn up at least an hour early.

People have been saying what is the problem as long as you get it before sat, but you should be able to pick it up at your own leisure.

I will be very angry if i have to proof that i bought one to be let in because i dont have a recieipt....

Very true stanleyfan, also that u have paid your coffeurs up front as well so least its not a financial one that the club can blame, fans paid up front so season tickets should be ready least before the season starts, too right u should be peed off & seems that this wasnt learned from last season:(

Tin Monkey 15-08-2007 13:23

Re: Season Tickets

I applied for mine through the post, so have no receipt at all. The only way that I know that money was taken is by the credit card bill I later received. I have nothing from the club to say they have even received my application. For all I know, some dodgy bloke in Thailand could have claimed my cash.

This isn't just about season tickets, but it's about looking after the customer. Will they ever learn? I doubt it.

Just been discussing it with Lew and he says:-

If for any reason the tickets aren’t available for Saturday (which they should be), provisions have been put in place to make sure all ticket holders are dealt with properly and professionally. Every sale is logged even cheques. So no problems there. In the unlikely event of no tickets, information will be posted on the website at the earliest possible opportunity I assure you.

It's all very well you telling everone else what Lew said, and I thank you for taking the trouble to post.

The point though is that no one from the club has been on the club's own web site recently to reassure the punters that all is well, that we will have our tickets in time for kick-off and that the resources are in place so that, should the worst happen, there won't be chaos at the club shop / offices on Saturday.

It's probably taken me 5 - 10 mins to post this. Surely it can't take much longer to post on the Fishy site and I simply won't have it that everyone is so busy at the club they can't spare that amount of time. They'd collectively save a damn site more through not having to make excuses to telephone callers and visitors individually.

"A stitch in time " and all that.

Pendle Red 15-08-2007 19:47

Re: Season Tickets

First things first there are not many printers I know of that are open on a Saturday!
So logic would dictate that the club will know by tomorrow if the Season Tickets will be available or not!
If they are to be available, then I would personally make them available from Friday so as to avoid potentially long queues of people that are likely to become a little irate if waiting for a long period of time to recieve there season tickets coupled with the junior membership. I am sure the club must have some kind of database sysem to know who has ordered what and for where? I would have thought that if it was also done in a disciplined manner there would be more chance of people buying other merchandise from the club shop as well as perhaps having a look at the new facilities with maybe staff on hand to talk them through the ideas off the field as well as on the field! Just good Google Page Ranking!!
or maybe the Club could take it a stage further and once the roof is on have an official open day for everyone where players, management and staff could be on hand to show people the facilities, throw it open to everyone in Accrington and area, with things for the kids to do and take part in, get the people talking ,generate interest, the list could be endless and may encourage people who have never been before to go and have a look at what they are missing!:)

That is a good point. I'm glad the club has taken steps to resolve the problem but surely sending vouchers in the post may cause problems for season ticket holders? What if they are not delivered in time for the game or lost in the post? Wouldn't it have been better for the vouchers to be collected at the shop rather than sent in the post?

I'm not sure it's a drop in interest but the price rise. If you remember we got them last season at Conference prices, of course there are other factors but for me it was the price rise.

I think some people felt disgruntled last season after paying for season tickets. Remember the 'free' Torquay game, which season ticket holders did not benefit from. I also remember people on here complaining that they'd bought their children season tickets, just weeks before the club announced the under-12s get in free scheme.

Bad publicity has a knock on effect.

Re: Season Tickets

When Eric went to the papers last season, slagging off people of Accy for not coming to the games, it didn't work. Why would it now?
I'm a massive fan of Coley's, but the manager should stick to talking about what happens on the field without blaming attendances etc for crap performances.
This club is so dangerously unprofessional it's scary.

IMHO lthough it is obvious that our gates are disgustingly low for this division, I believe the club should put further efforts into increasing match-day enjoyment for the current fans and making provisions for them, rather then moaning about the ones who are not there.

The crowd cant score a goal. The crowd cant make a tackle. The crowd cant save a penalty. The crowd cant make a tactical change.

It seems as though the club are resorting to the old fail-safe of moaning at attendances to take the glare off bad performances on the pitch.

I was told that they should have been arriving tomorrow/thursday am at the latest and will be available over the bar at the Crown thursday and friday night to help alleviate the queues on saturday.

Why don't they pass them out of a suitcase on the pub car park and be done with it? Truly tinpot.
