Season Tickets
I've heard a rumour that it'll be all pay on the gate on Saturday and that season ticket holders will then be able to claim back their entry fee at a later date.
Any one know if ther's any truth in that? |
Re: Season Tickets
Better bloody not be any truth in it.
|
Re: Season Tickets
I think that maybe just rumours & nothing more - otherwise would have to be disclosed on official site
|
Re: Season Tickets
Well if I was a betting man... I would bet that season tickets will be ready in time.. have faith :)

Re: Season Tickets
The season has gone well so far. Great new signings, roof to be completed after a long wait, and we went to Wycombe and we won 1-0. The season tickets WILL be ready in time!

Re: Season Tickets

Roof was due to be in place before the first league game. Now delayed. Season ticket due out before the first league game. Fancy a game of "spot the trend"? |
Re: Season Tickets
Fancy a game of "spot the trend"?[/quote]
ok then. last season the season tickets were ready just in time. They probably will this year-we'll have to see. If they are not ready it isn't ideal but we will get our money back at a later date. We lost away on the opening day last year but won this year. Last year the roof was just a distant fantasy but it is now being built. To me it would seem that things are on the up! We have to remain positive! http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...ons/icon10.gif |
Re: Season Tickets
The tactic was to dangle the bait and see who bit. Of course I expect the season tickets to be ready for Saturday. But the point is a serious one. Why leave it so late yet again?
It's not as if the club are suddenly going to sell a couple of hundred more season tickets at this late stage. The powers that be will have known how sales were going weeks ago and should have ordered accordingly, so that we got our tickets in plenty of time. Instead they pretend they can't be sure how many to order until late on and leave us with zero information, even though some of us stumped up our cash about 3 months ago. We're talking about season ticket books for God's sake, not Gothenberg Bibles! How much can each one cost to print? I'm all for saving a bob or two, but there are limits. It's the same charade every year and it p***es me off. |

Would't not surpirse me if that were to happen. I know somebody paid cash for their season ticket and who ever served him in the shop was put out when he asked for a receipt.

What discount do u get on club merchandise wynonie????????:)
|
Re: Season Tickets
You get 10%, but you can't have it unless you've got a season ticket, but you can't get a season ticket because the club don't have them ready....catch 22!
|
Re: Season Tickets
The tannoy bloke last night said 'tickets for the Darlington game would be available after last night's match'. Perhaps all games are going to be all-ticket and the season tickets will become obsolete? ;)
Mind you, he also welcomed us to the League 1 fixture, so it could mean anything. ;) |
Re: Season Tickets
From what I heard in the shop last night they might not even be here before Saturday, lass working in the shop was telling people to bring their receipts and they would be let in, the guy who was asking said he didn't have a receipt as he was a life member - she was stumped then
|
Re: Season Tickets
Don't think I got a receipt either? I'll have to have a search but as far as I can remember I didn't get one.
|
Re: Season Tickets
Not that it's much consolation, but the Rovers messageboard is full of the same complaint!
|
Re: Season Tickets
And if it's any consolation I haven't got mine yet, and we have already had a home game :D

Re: Season Tickets
i know I wasn't given a receipt!!!!!
|
Re: Season Tickets
I paid for mine by cheque through the post, so will I have to bring my bank statement in??
|
Re: Season Tickets
I know that i wasnt given a Receipt. I payed by card. I think its terrible that they dont have them ready. When i went in to collect it the girl said 'they will be ready on sat' but thinking about it, how are they going to give them all out at before the match. they need to find the right ticket, make sure its the right person they are giving it to etc. and if they have sold more than 400 then its going to take a very long time and people will have to turn up at least an hour early.
People have been saying what is the problem as long as you get it before sat, but you should be able to pick it up at your own leisure. I will be very angry if i have to proof that i bought one to be let in because i dont have a recieipt.... |
Re: Season Tickets
Very true stanleyfan, also that u have paid your coffeurs up front as well so least its not a financial one that the club can blame, fans paid up front so season tickets should be ready least before the season starts, too right u should be peed off & seems that this wasnt learned from last season:(
|
Re: Season Tickets
I applied for mine through the post, so have no receipt at all. The only way that I know that money was taken is by the credit card bill I later received. I have nothing from the club to say they have even received my application. For all I know, some dodgy bloke in Thailand could have claimed my cash.
This isn't just about season tickets, but it's about looking after the customer. Will they ever learn? I doubt it. |

Re: Season Tickets
Just been discussing it with Lew and he says:-
If for any reason the tickets aren’t available for Saturday (which they should be), provisions have been put in place to make sure all ticket holders are dealt with properly and professionally. Every sale is logged even cheques. So no problems there. In the unlikely event of no tickets, information will be posted on the website at the earliest possible opportunity I assure you. |
Re: Season Tickets
Quote:
It's all very well you telling everone else what Lew said, and I thank you for taking the trouble to post. The point though is that no one from the club has been on the club's own web site recently to reassure the punters that all is well, that we will have our tickets in time for kick-off and that the resources are in place so that, should the worst happen, there won't be chaos at the club shop / offices on Saturday. It's probably taken me 5 - 10 mins to post this. Surely it can't take much longer to post on the Fishy site and I simply won't have it that everyone is so busy at the club they can't spare that amount of time. They'd collectively save a damn site more through not having to make excuses to telephone callers and visitors individually. "A stitch in time " and all that. |
Re: Season Tickets
First things first there are not many printers I know of that are open on a Saturday!
So logic would dictate that the club will know by tomorrow if the Season Tickets will be available or not! If they are to be available, then I would personally make them available from Friday so as to avoid potentially long queues of people that are likely to become a little irate if waiting for a long period of time to recieve there season tickets coupled with the junior membership. I am sure the club must have some kind of database sysem to know who has ordered what and for where? I would have thought that if it was also done in a disciplined manner there would be more chance of people buying other merchandise from the club shop as well as perhaps having a look at the new facilities with maybe staff on hand to talk them through the ideas off the field as well as on the field! Just good Google Page Ranking!! or maybe the Club could take it a stage further and once the roof is on have an official open day for everyone where players, management and staff could be on hand to show people the facilities, throw it open to everyone in Accrington and area, with things for the kids to do and take part in, get the people talking ,generate interest, the list could be endless and may encourage people who have never been before to go and have a look at what they are missing!:) |

Re: Season Tickets
Wahey ..... our tickets for tomorrow arrived in the post this morning. Just a small gripe though - there's no seat numbers on them so will have to get there early to make sure we get the seats which are supposed to be reserved with our season tickets. Not a problem though, at least we know we can get in without having to queue for hours :)
|
Re: Season Tickets
mine have not arrived today not happy bunny
|
Re: Season Tickets
i got mine too. On the ticket there are 2 rip off bits. One which says consession the other says adult so do you think that mean that i can use it for an adult and a consession or just one...
|
Re: Season Tickets
The post has just been and guess what? No ticket for me. It looks as though those people who live in Accrington will get theirs, but those of us further afield will have to wait and hope.
Where I live I rarely get a Saturday delivery, so it really is a lottery as to whether I will get one or not. What provisions are in place for those who don't receive a voucher? |

ohhh ok. A bit of wishful thinking! That would have been a nice gesture to give a free ticket away so you can bring someone else.

i am at work at 6 o clock in the morning then going straight to the match there is no chance of me getting mine before the kick off not very good service
|
Re: Season Tickets
Can't wait to get home from work.
Will the posty have done the business or won't he? The tension is unbearable! |
Re: Season Tickets
Mine arrived this morning. Hope everyone will get theirs tomorrow if not today.
|
Re: Season Tickets
Mine arrived - liverpool.
|
Re: Season Tickets
My mate in Morecambe has got his ticket too, so it's not a regional thing.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow. |
Re: Season Tickets
Just got home to find mine has arrived in Stockport. Does this mean I can get my discount in the shop??
|
Re: Season Tickets
The postie must have known about the situation, as I've just had a Saturday delivery for the first time in weeks. A ticket to get into today's game was amongst the other junk, so panic over. :D
|
Re: Season Tickets
God Bless Adam Croziers boys!
My Postie dragged himself from the arms of his Beloved this morning and, for the first time in ages, I have mail on a Saturday. Amongst it an envelope complete with the precious contents of a ticket for today's game. Of course I never doubted for a second that all would turn out right in the end. |
Re: Season Tickets
Just listening to Radio Lancashire and its not just Accy Stanley - Preston NE didnt get theirs until this week either.
Must be something about being a football thing. Season tickets not sent out until the week before the first home match. |
Re: Season Tickets
...and there was me complaining that ours went on sale in July..at least we got ours then!
|
Re: Season Tickets
According to Eric - Only 232 season tickets sold - HOW LONG DOES THAT TAKE?!
Could've hand written them myself by now. |
Re: Season Tickets
There'll be even less sold next season, if this debacle is anything to go by.
|
Re: Season Tickets
i fear for our club if that is true that we have only sold 232 season tickets. we probably had more in the unibond. how can we survive without some1 putting in there own money especially if we keep gettin poor crowds. next few home games are against teams who wont bring alot either (peterboro grimsby mansfield)

Re: Season Tickets
Must admit that's shocked me somewhat. I'd assumed that we'd sold around 400. I know we struggled last season, but I didn't expect interest to drop so low. What else does Eric say?...is he worried about it?

just shows the premiership is killing english football, you think the england team is mediocre now just wait for a few years down the line...its going to kill all the little clubs off .i would love setanta and sky to go bankrupt where would the premiership with their prima donnas and wannabes be then..

Re: Season Tickets
I think some people felt disgruntled last season after paying for season tickets. Remember the 'free' Torquay game, which season ticket holders did not benefit from. I also remember people on here complaining that they'd bought their children season tickets, just weeks before the club announced the under-12s get in free scheme.
Bad publicity has a knock on effect. |
Re: Season Tickets
When Eric went to the papers last season, slagging off people of Accy for not coming to the games, it didn't work. Why would it now?
I'm a massive fan of Coley's, but the manager should stick to talking about what happens on the field without blaming attendances etc for crap performances. This club is so dangerously unprofessional it's scary. |
Re: Season Tickets
Have to agree with that last post don't have a go at the fans that do come also whatever the reason for delay with the roof it's a must to get sorted I know people who don't come to get wet Accrington small place but like anywhere walk on fans come in extra numbers when your at the top end of table so come on concentratemon getting right results.

Re: Season Tickets
IMHO lthough it is obvious that our gates are disgustingly low for this division, I believe the club should put further efforts into increasing match-day enjoyment for the current fans and making provisions for them, rather then moaning about the ones who are not there.
The crowd cant score a goal. The crowd cant make a tackle. The crowd cant save a penalty. The crowd cant make a tactical change. It seems as though the club are resorting to the old fail-safe of moaning at attendances to take the glare off bad performances on the pitch. |
Re: Season Tickets
I dont know the area - but i get the impression blackburn, accy and burnley has alot of muslims/arabs/asians etc.
it was recognised when bury signed the indian international striker - attendences went up by a few hundred for a few months - despite him not starting very often. at least, thats what my mates just told me. maybe its a part of the community that could fill up the frazer. |
