Accrington Stanley Ladies put in a fine performance today against favourites for promotion Burnley Girls & Ladies FC away in Burnley. At various points during the match Stanley should have taken the lead through the lively Vicki Westerman and Sarah Ronnan. But it was Burnley who took the lead midway through the 2nd half only to see their lead be cancelled out a few minutes later by a very confident 16-year-old Hannah Jones and that's how the game finished 1-1. Overall, a fair result. Next week it's the return of 'Basil' :confused: with a home fixture against Carleton Rovers at Wilsons at 2pm.

I hasten to add as well for the first time EVER Stanley Ladies are off the bottom of the table and are safely in mid-table!!!! :D

It's only our first game UKcowboy and not counting our blessings just yet!!! Tough season ahead!! Come back to me in May 2008 and see if I am as confident then as I am now, because I feel at the moment like we've just won the World Cup and we only drew lol!!

Yeah Vicki we got from Oldham, she's a very capable player and the team listens to her and every week you pick a MOM of the opposing side, Burnley chose Vicki today, which says a lot!! Have to say though, the team play as one, they are extremely close as a squad, they go out together all the time as a group to various places, they also constantly support each other at training and in games and they have gelled so quickly it's great to see!! Fingers crossed we'll reap the rewards over the next few months!

excellent news, i know exactlly how it feels to get your first ever point, one of my junior teams had to wait until their third season to get theirs, but it came in the end and it was like winning the world cup, so well done, now go out there and make it your first win!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello and I was there to witness it and what a great day it was :D

The ladies already had their first win at the end of last season...If you want to see a really good match, you should get yourself along to Wilsons P.F next Sunday at 2pm. They are playing Carleton Rovers (the team who they beat to get their first win). :D:D:D

er indoors is supposed to be working sunday, so i might just drag myself along, specially if i am going to witness a tubbing!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a great game this Sunday, we lie fourth in the table at the moment behind Wigan, Sefton, and Curzon Ashton. Our opponents on Sunday Carleton lost 9-1 yesterday. But don't read into that too much they will throw everything at us on Sunday because of last season just like we will!!
