Oldham LDV

Will we get to see some youth players in action?
Will Ian take the net ahead of Kenny to give him a run out?

Hopefully wee can rest our key players Llike Authur, Mullin and Roberts as 3 points against Grimsby is far more important IMO.

Any news on the Oldham team? they playing reserves?

A fewof players have something to prove.
Whalley, Miles, Edwards, D'sane, Brown, McGivern - will they get a game?

we would probably still give them a game as the lee hughes situation has unsettled them i think.they are going through a bad patch..

Dont see the need to rest arthur personally as goalkeepers dont exactly get tired as easy.

personally id like to see dsane start with bobby grant also.

bring branch into center midfield where you will be able to see his obvious class.

also put boco in the center where every1 knows he is most affective.

plus rocky out and edwards in

lee hughes who signed from west bromwich albion via prison team cant play against stanley as he was sent off in a prison game and has to server a 1 match ban, which is the next fixture ldv trophy.

Do you mean the last one of a three match ban as I'm sure he was suspended for a game v Burnley.

i hope theres lots of "youre supposed to be in jail" sung tomorrow

Was he still a WBA player ? Did they not terminate his contract when he went down. If not they should have done.

dont you have to play 6 proper first teamers minimum to avoid a fine?

I'm with it now. Confusing because we have just played WBA and Oldham.

Yes he was suspended for Oldham game but as he played on Saturday his suspension must be finished now.

Re: Oldham LDV

I think we should start like this, only my opinion though

Arthur
Cavanagh Edwards Roberts Richardson
Whalley Harris Grant
Brown
Mullin Dsane

Dunbavin Williams Boco/Proctor Miles McGrail

Not sure when Boco leaves on international duty.

I would give Paul Mullin a rest and give young McGrail a run out. Is Cav fit yet? If so then yes I agree he should start. I am also of the opinion give Bav's a game with Martin Fearon on the bench. The rest of your team leaves us way above the 6 required (according to Morecambe Red) first teamers. Here's hoping for a win tomorrow.

Rommy leaves on Wednesday and so will miss the Grimsby game :( but at least thats the only one he won't be here for :)

Pretty sure Branchy will be out tomorrow. Any sending off ban is instant. Only the accumulated yellow cards come in to effect 7 days after the last card.

Revisiting the Hughes situation. Reports said he was suspended for the Burnley game last week but didn't sign in time to play anyway. BBC report he is suspended for tomorrow night, yet he played on Saturday. Presumably then his suspension didn't come in to effect until today ?

All very confusing :confused::confused::confused:

Isn't that just the way the FA wants it? The more confused we are, the less we see how confused they are.

Re: Oldham LDV

Alright fellas?

I suspect we'll put out pretty much our 1st team squad tonight with one or two key changes. Things haven't been going brilliantly for us - primarily cos our back 4 seem to have forgotten that they are actually professional footballers and not circus clowns :bangh8:

I think (if fit) Les Pogliacomi will be in goal instead of Mark Crossley and Neal Trotman may well play instead of John Thompson alongside Sean Gregan in the middle of the back 4.

I also suspect Kelvin Lomax (one of our youngsters) might play at left back instead of Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea loanee).

We've got some injuries to key players (Neil Kilkenny MF, Mark Allott MF, Michael Ricketts ST, Dean Smalley ST, Lewis Alessandra ST, Stefan Stam CB) at the moment so we need all the opportunities we can get to have our makeshift first choice side playing together.

To clarify the Lee Hughes situation - he IS currently suspended. He wasn't ready to play at Burnley having only signed the day before and he was free to play on Saturday as his suspension kicked in from the 2nd to the 9th I think.

I'm looking forward to tonights game, the Crown is a new ground for me.

Best of luck for the rest of the season and all that, but I hope we give you a right drilling tonight (we need it at the minute)! :wink8:
