Although it's not been properly tested in this fine weather, in my opinion, the roof has made a huge difference to the Clayton End. Yes, the noise levels of the Ultras have been boosted, but there's just more of an "atmosphere" on there, somehow. Just wish it was more full!

Both doing really well thanks, and yes they were both there.........one of them slept all the way through the game, whilst Emily was heard to shout somthing unrecognisable at the Ref :D:p:D

Crowds are actually dropping, despite the fact that the sun was shining and we have a sun screen now (roof).

Grimsby looked to have brought a decent number (more than 350 I thought), so were there less that 1000 there from Accrington today?

Be better still if/when they fill the back in - only one way for the noise to get out then :D and it will stop me getting neck ache with the winds howling through it

That's good to hear. More atmosphere can be such a positive thing in many ways.

Instead Coleman was celebrating the heroics of his shot-stopper after Dunbavin saved two penalties and played a starring role in only Accrington's second away point of the season."

Wow got plenty there Pete..Don't really need them on a Saturday, but then again I'm away on holidays up north soon and Stanley play 3 times including 2 weekend games so I don' t want you to forget me then as you will be my only contact with results. It really is much appreciated.

It is very worrying TM, especialy when you take into account that the little uns are now back at school..........cant be blamed on the 'holiday season' quite so readily now.............I wonder if the recent negative comments in the press have had an effect?...............I suspect so, therefore do we need a Google Page Ranking specialist at the club I wonder?

No, an excellent cross from Ian Dunbavin to Ricky Kirby during the crossbar challenge. The ball hit poor Rick knocking the Mic to the floor. And another a little later that parted Ricks hair, which may have shaken Rick up a bit as his legs gave way trying to leave the pitch.:D

Did you think so? I would have said there were no more than 300 Codheads there (the Whinney Hill away section looked pretty empty), so I would say the home attendances are holding fast at the 1000 mark. Not too bad (by our standards), considering our recent results.

Re: vs Grimsby

Who cares how many came, if the team can continue to play like they did today, then the crowds will rise. What disappointed me was there was not more Burnley and Blackburn fans at the match, considering our nearest rivals weren't playing until next week. But as I said who cares. What a wonderful sight todays game was. When they went 2-1 they didn't let their heads drop, but upped the tempo and deservedly scored another 2 IMHO. Could easily have been more. Rosco and Mullers look the ideal partnership up front and Browny and Proccie had stormers today. The whole team played really well, it was just funny seeing Proccie running around with the Number 15 shorts and no number or name on the shirt (using the blood shirt due to injury earlier). Will be interesting to see the goals when they get put on here (will miss tomorrows Granada reports due to being in Northumberland). If they keep this up, then people (including me) will stop calling for Coleys head. But I will say in my defnce, if we are to be serious contenders for the play-offs, we have to beat the Darlingtons, Lincolns and Peterboroughs of the league. Also see Morecambe are up to 6th (only 2 points above us).

There could be a problem with the goals clip today. The championship isn't on. we may have to wait for Granada Reports tomorrow.:(

Exactly 300 Grimsby on away end plus a few disabled in the main. Disappointing only a 1000 or so from Accy! Perhaps it was too warm today;)

Excellent performance by the lads yesterday, although when it went to 2 -1 I'll admit to a few nerves. There may not have been as many Rovers or Burnley fans on as there might have been but David Dunn was there with his little girl who was sporting a Stanley shirt, well done Dunny for showing your true colours :)

Well, I reckon Eric and Coley might care, because the attendances we get have a direct effect on the quality of players we can afford!

i too thought there would be lot more people yesterday but thats the way the cookie crumbles .friday night is another strategy stanley are going to try we'll have to wait and see if it works..ive got an open mind about this because it might attract the people who play in the local saturday football leagues who might not have come because they are playing football on a saturday plus people will buy a lot more beer in the crown sportsbar and ground too boost profit...:):)or even people who have to work on a saturday.you never know..........

Great game and have to spend the rest of the home matches sending UK cowboy to the loo or to get chips as he missed 3 of our goals!!!!!

As for the low attendance I think the comment on floaters not coming on due to the England match starting during the game could be a reason but that could hardly account for hundreds missing!!!

I think the next sat home match will give an indication of what attendance to expect, as far as I'm aware it doesn't clash with anything and also follows this fantastic win at home!!

Hope yesterday's goals appear somewhere soon, I'm busting to see Proccy's second again, great cross from Leam, seemed to enjoy his spell on the right wing. Proccy's heading has come on a lot, it's great when someone's getting into the box late. Mind you he was everywhere yesterday. :)

Re: vs Grimsby

The sad thing is - Miles has the ability to play in the championship if not higher.

He is just lazy and renowned for having a 0 work rate.

Its such a shame as the natural ball ability is all there.

I hope im wrong for Stanleys sake - I just think come the end of October, Coleman may regret giving him a 2 year deal.

Dont forget - he only started putting in some effort for Macc when he had 3 months to go on his contract and hadnt recieved any firm offers.

Re: vs Grimsby

whats your problem with miles.its obvious hes done something to upset in the past.you know an awful lot about him for someone who has played just 7 games.
i agree that he hasnt set the world alight but hes only been here for two months,i think it would be fair to judge him in six months time

DAV007 13-09-2007 17:55

Re: vs Grimsby

I dont have a problem with him personally.

i just think his work rate and effort is not good enough.

the team carry him to often.

its as if he is scared to get stuck in.

im entitled to my opinion, and I hope to be proved wrong.

he has offered nothing so far.

cart-on 13-09-2007 18:51

Re: vs Grimsby

I dont know why you think i know him - i always research what the fans at the players previous club think.
And the Macc fans had no time for Miles - said he was bone idol.

i just thing he is wasting alot of potential.

We shall see - i think by the end of october we will have a defenate understanding of his true application.

Quite eloquently put. At this level we can't afford to carry people.I don't doubt for one minute the lad has talent otherwise Coley wouldn't have signed him, but unfortunately from what I've seen off him so far, I'd have to start thinking of other options. And we have plenty of options in those positions at the moment.

Which begs the question : How far is Carden away from match fitness??
