Re: Bury Away

parking by the ground is all residential streets.

little tip - i went once, arrived late and just wanted to get in the ground so jumped in the home end.

once inside, asked the steward if we could move to the away end by 'playing dumb' about walking into the wrong end of the ground.

got moved to the away end, and saved myself £5 on the entry fee.

call it scouse intuition.

Why would you pay £5 less when both ends are the same price?

Both ends are £14. Both sides are £16.

Re: Bury Away

Am I Going ??- You'd better believe it:D
How I'm going ??- By car (with Bury fans,so If the boys do good I may be walking back!!!!)
Best Option??? If you ain't going by the official coach (from Accy) I'd suggest X61 BUS?? (might have changed number) which goes from Accy bus station to the Interchange at Bury. I think the train (from Accy) is a longer and more expensive option (unless you intend on a few Beers in Manchester Centre, and then it's change at Blackburn, then Metro from Manchester.)
Boozer : Staff of life ( Manchester Road,at the rear of the ground) or there's one on the opposite side of the Interchange at Bury, and the name of the place escapes me!!(Grapes ??), There's also a few on the interchange at Bury and on the main drag on down the Manchester road but that may depend on the hospitality of the locals and the local Plod!!

Either way, lets pack the place and roar the boys on to 3 points !!! :D:D

On Stanley,ON !!

Re: Bury Away

Bury away... Please be aware to check when parking your car that it's not in a tow away zone, this is new to the area and part of Bury MBC attempt to get fans back on the bus.Dont be over alarmed their are still loads of places to park, just dont get a parking ticket.

Best pubs... Number one pub for me is The Waterloo Manchester Road 5 mins (from ground) Pack Horse 3 mins. Staff of life 3 mins, Swan & Cemetry 5 mins.

Kiwi John - approx 15kms

I don't know how well you get on with Bury fans. We had a drink in their social club by the ground. They were quite friendly. They also sold food in there.

BURY FOOTBALL CLUB - DIRECTIONS:

BY CAR: All Directions: Exit M60 at junction 17 (s/p A56 Whitefield, Salford). At roundabout follow signs to `Whitfield A56, Radcliffe (A665), Bury A56' onto the A56. After 0.3 miles go straight over double traffic lights passing McDonalds on LHS (s/p Bury A56, Radcliffe A665). At lights after 0.8 miles (just after the `Bull's Head' pub) bear right (s/p Bury A56). Straight on at lights after 1.0 miles (s/p Town Centre). After 1.0 miles turn right (s/p Football Ground) into Gigg Lane. Ground is on RHS after 0.1 miles.

FROM METROLINK STATION (Bury): 0.7 miles to ground. Trams run from Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. By taxi: £1.50. By bus: Nos. 90, 92, 134, 135 and 137 run every ten minutes down Manchester Road past the end of Gigg Lane. By foot: This route takes in a couple of the pubs listed below. Turn left out of station along covered passageway and past various bus-stops. At T-junction with Haymarket Street (by the Chicago Rock Cafe) turn left. Straight over crossroads, down Knowsley Street. This comes out opposite `Sergios' and a white monument. Here, turn left along the Manchester Road, towards the `Staff of Life'. Turn left after about 0.5 miles into Gigg Lane. Last Midweek Trains: The Metrolink has a frequent service to both Manchester mainline stations. Please double-check on Metrolink (0161) 205 2000, and Rail Enquiries on (0345) 484 950.

BY BUS: As above.

PARKING: Much of Gigg Lane itself is coned off, but the side streets are not, and there's a good deal of space. The police will advise on parking on you arrival for mini-buses at Gigg Lane.

THE STADIUM: The Cemetery End has been converted into an all-seater stand. Visiting fans are housed in the Cemetery End. It's covered and provides excellent views of the action
