One game I remember going to on Christmas day 1957 was against Crewe at Crewe. It was a cold day so at half time I went to their old food hut for a meat pie and coffee. Walking away I took a bite of the pie and it was rotten, I turned round to throw it at the hut and almost fell down laughing, there were already at least 50 pies stuck to the side of the hut.

Hi, I don't have memories of AS but my husband does and is delighted they are back in the league. He is quite convinced they started the league or were founder members and was aghast when I told him it was the Owd Reds! Hows is that from a mere woman! (Actually I read it on the AS website).

I don't have memories but I may be (am) related to the first Secretary the club ever had i.e. Henry Cronshaw! My mother was a Cronshaw (there are a lot it Accy I know) who lived in Plantation Mill Cottages in 1881. I wondered if anyone had a piccy of him or anecdotes. I know you are all too young to remember him but maybe, just maybe your Grandads, Gt. Grandads etc may have spoken to you about him.

Good luck with todays match wherever it is and for the future. Stanley for the cup!!!!

Well heres my tale,
Got thrashed on one tuesday night, think it was 8 - 2 but it's so long ago I can't really remember, was really looking forward to the next match, Brentford if my mind is still intact, was looking forward to the team getting some kind of revenge after the last game, it had been lashing it down all week, went to the club house, some sort of presentation, exhibition launch going on but I was too involved in the flowing of the black stuff, think it's called Guinness, got introduced to a couple of members off a website called Accyweb or something, had a real good chat, then got told the game had been called off so I forced some more glasses of that black treacle looking stuff down my neck, got dropped off at home by one of the guys who I was talking too, turned PC on to see how the league table was looking, fell asleep whilst looking at it, got a slap on the back of the head when my take-away arrived and then miraculously appeared here writing this post :D
PS nice to meet you Wynonie Harris and Cashman

Yep, nice to meet you too, Ken. Just got in and if truth be told, I quite enjoyed it all. Where were you, Oggy? Said hello (briefly) to Bagpuss and I got to meet Bananaman!

Muchas gracias to Gayle, Macca, Harwood Red and StanleyMad for a very professional presentation.

I'm going to lie down for a little while now...

Just wanted to say a huge well done to Macca,Stanleymad,Harwood Red, and Gayle, for doing both the OSC and ASFC proud today.

I thought that the effort you guys put in to making the clubhouse look like it belonged to football fans was excellent.........great job all round :D

Just a shame that the game was called off..........but thats footie I guess.

Because everytime I looked over, you seemed to be deep in discussion with important-looking people. Then, finally, I thought, "sod it, I'll go and say hello, anyway.", looked round and...you'd gone! I wouldn't have made much sense anyway, as I was jabbering a bit after the sixth pint of Kronenbourg.

I'll definitely say hello next time!

Match postponement aside. Thanks to everyone for coming to the launch, I think it went really well. Hard work leading upto it and alot more to come before the exhibition starts in July...

Want to express my sincere thanks for everyone who attended, the launch seemed to prove a huge success, altho i couldnt get any stories formally recorded yesterday, didnt seem right when focus was on the pitch inspection, never seen the patio windows plastered with faces peering at the ultimate desicion making on the pitch. Despite that it was good that the launch went ahead without a hitch & pictures held on pretty well, the club house was amast with colour & pictures, thanks to Jase for the use of the big flag being our central point of focus:D

I hope everyone enjoyed the occaision & got a bit more insight into what we are doing - also to kick start our exhibition [feedback & the look of the clubhouse on just a smigent of stuff that amazed people - only bodes well for the final result]:D

Glad to see one of our former players attend, Gordon Stones whom made the occasision more the momentous & even for me will be another special addition to my stanley memories indeed, he was an absolute star & i even got a farewell hug of a legend awww:D:D

Despite the very sore legs [godknows what i have done but pulled a few muscles or trapped a nerve in the right one it ouches anyway - yesterday put it down to being on my feet all day in heels] but anyways the things i do for the club & osc eh :rofl38: still worth it tho it was a fantastic day:D
