A minor reliquary cult
Some of you may have read David Winner's excellent book on Dutch Football, Brilliant Orange. The linking of Bergkamp's passing to Dutch architecture is unforgettable, while the lack of an horizon in a flat land also adds a dimension not obviously apparent to the average Whinney Hill spectator.
Anyway the writer has now shifted his attention to English football, and Accrington Stanley appear on page 98. He oppines that a minor reliquary cult has grown around the team that died in 1962. For once I think he's got it wrong, but maybe I'm mistaken, any thoughts? |
Re: A minor reliquary cult
whats a reliquary cult then? and if he oppines does that mean he misses us?

Re: A minor reliquary cult
maybe if he oppines that Stanley 62 are held sacred, he may make assumptions that Stanley, like Jesus, rose again?
