Thanks for link, Oldgobbin, worked fine for me. Maybe Cav should just stay on the wing. :)

Worked fine for me. Made great viewing, even with that commentator - a contender for the most boring person alive.

Re: Goals from Dagenham

could the commentator be any more morbid for the 1st goal?

I have a program called HiNet Recorder that will record any streaming media, but i cant open the link so am unable to record it, i think the progarm was either free to download or a very small cost was involved i cant remember now.
Mind you a quick google of streaming media recorders should yeild something free to download.

Here's the savable version that I've just done.

Daggers v Stanley
768x576 WMV (128 seconds long 16.9Mb)

Daggers v Stanley (Podcast/MP4 Player)
320x240 WMV (128 seconds long 15.4Mb)

I've left in the slow motion replays that's why the file is so long and large.

The first goal with the buildup has to be a contender for goal of the season.:):):):):)

Thanks for the goals

At one point in the second half, Cav turned up on the left wing. And later, following a quick break from defence, Andy Procter hared down the left wing with the ball while and Cav ran straight through the centre. A brilliant cross from Proccy and there was Cav to head the ball home. Well, he would have done had he made contact!

Re: Goals from Dagenham

Made contact all right with the Daggers' cross at the other end earlier - candidate for og of the season methinks :)

WHY NOT? Because he is supposed to be a defender. If Dagenham had been quicker on the break they would have caught us out just like Wrexham did. When Wrexham scored their second goal it was scored from where Cav should have been defending, but at the time Cav was nearly on the half way line.

Not a fan of total football?

Look what happened when he is back defending. :o

Yes, but as you've posted in another thread we are currently playing with 3 centre backs with Cav and Leam or Branchy playing wing backs, i.e. when those two go forward we have three covering the back line so the blame can't be blamed squarely at Cav's door.

Re: Goals from Dagenham

re the comments about cavs own goal and how he cant be blamed,if he had left it the ball would have gone out for a goal kick and as there was not an attacker near him when he connected with it it would be classed as not being aware of who is near you,no shout from the keeper or any one else to leave it, a bloody stupid own goal and definatly cavs fault,

UNFAIR!
There was an attacker lurking and he had no choice but to try to wallop it away - he just slightly mis-timed it.:) Accy Mad is dead right too - you can't admire his great cross for the first goal from near the by-line and then expect him to be back in defence at the same time. When we play without a winger like Toddy he is great as an overlapping full back and always gives opposing defenders a torrid time. You can't have it both ways. Previous posters have complained about us sitting back in the second half, but you can't find any overlapping full backs who can get up and down for the full 90 minutes. I have sometimes been critical of Cav's defending, but give the lad a chance ffs.

If he is an overlapping full back, who or what is he overlapping ?

I remember everybody slating Lard Arse Rogers last season for not getting back to defend when he had ventured up field. Cav is not getting back to defend when venturing up field now. Why is everybody sticking up for him ? He is often nowhere to be seen when the opposition score (unless he is doing it for them), he marks fresh air at any throw in, corner or other set piece yet people defend him.

By the way I am not sticking up for Lard Arse - he was crap.

rogers - evils role model.

where has rogers ended up?
he had a decent touch just couldnt tackle or last more than 45 minutes.

I don't blame Cav for the goal as he would've thought that bloke was 'up his arse' (but he didn.t make a final run??). but I can't really figure out WHERE he was trying to direct the ball-over the top or hooking it towards the sideline/keeping it in play??
And thanks for the links guys.

Try and put yourself in his postion, its ok watching the replay and saying what did he do that for. But imagine you are on the pitch you see a ball that looks like it is heading for the goal (our view from a distance is easier to spot that it was going out but not so close up) so you try to clear it. Of course it is every players nightmare to score an own goal and even more so when it is as spectacular as that one!!

We were standing five yards away and we could see that it was going well wide.

Re: Goals from Dagenham

think your being a little harsh there. just watched the goals again and it is quite clear that he appears to lose his footing as he attempts to clear. as for the wrexham goal that was a centre forward who scored and should of been marked by one of the 3 centre backs. dont think u quite understand the how the new system is suposed to be played my friend. i for one quite like seeing our wing backs getting forward thats what their there for.
