north vics goodbye?
I am informed by a Witton Albion fan, their is still a 50% chance of North Vics going bust this week. (their chairmen had to write to Exeters board ensuring them Saturdays game was going ahead).
In such an event, all players would become free agents due to a breach of contract by the employer. Thus, a certain Michael Welch would be available. With Coleman adopting to his new 3-5-2 formation, and Branch looking alot better on the ball in the middle than at left-sided centre half; is their any possibility of getting him back? I know he made a few mistakes last year, but he did have some ability. Just wondering? |
Re: north vics goodbye?
I'd love him back & know that all at the riflemans in Winsford would love him to be a red again..... They tell us that when our wagon rolls into town for a refuel (of booze!)
......" I'm Tommy Walsh!" Lets start a campaign to bring him back, just so we can see Geordie in the club house again |
Re: north vics goodbye?
When he left Stanley the only club that wanted him was a club at the bottom of the Conference, do you really think that he is good enough to play for Stanley in the Football League ?

Re: north vics goodbye?
Of course you are right Jeff. To judge progress of a team you have to look at who leaves and the quality of their replacements.
In Roberts and Webb we have made significant progress. Ok, it's not perfect, but we are certainly moving forwards. |
Re: north vics goodbye?
I fully agree with the last 2 postings. Welchy did a good job for us and was a very popular lad, but we need to move on... and we have done. His return would be a backward step for the club.

Re: north vics goodbye?
but on a free as cover until the end of the season?
some news today that vics have potential new investors lined up to take over by November, a key stumbling block is the current chairman's over valuation of the land the ground sits on. |
