Sad news

Just read in the Observer that Marjorie Chamberlain, a lifelong Stanley supporter and the lady who made the Winstanley mascot has sadly passed away this week. Deepest sympathies to Marjorie's family.

Yes, I'm OK, thanks, Stanleymad, but very sad to hear the news...as is my mum who I've just told. We lived next door to her on Broadfield Road in the 50's, so I'd known her all my life. A lovely lady and a dedicated Stanley supporter, as was her late husband, Jim and son, Kenneth. She told me a few years ago that she'd had an offer from her nephew to go and live with his family in New Zealand, but she never went...I reckon it was because she couldn't bear to leave her beloved Stanley. RIP, Marjorie.
