Barnet

Looks like it will be a quiet weekend for us then, The minibus was canceled due to our driver being away on holiday, and now the fraser eagle coach has been canceled due to only 8 people booking on it!!

Re: Barnet

thats a joke.

i offered them 3 lads to be picked up from anywhere on the m6 near liverpool.

i know its only 3 more, but they dont do pick ups.

i am now driving down by myself and meeting 2 other lads at the ground.
if anyone wants a lift, pm me.

Re: Barnet

plus i know of another 7/8 lads from minibus who would have booked on but haven't had the time to go to office to book on yet, so total would have been hitting 20 on the coach, but i still think its a bit of a let down that we cant fill a official coach to the away games....need someone on the games trying to persuade people into coming on the buses possibly a job that could be allocated by the OSC???

Re: Barnet

Rob Heys mentioned during the close season that there would possibly be a job available for anybody that wanted it - to take names and fees at the ground and there would be a free place on the coach in it.

This was offered at the June/July meeting but nobody took it up. I don't often get to away matches anymore so I wouldn't do it myself but I would presumethe job offer would still be there if anybody wants a go?

Personally I would have thought that a professional coach company would man it themselves but ....... I am sure they could supply somebody (paying them their hourly rate) whose sole job is to walk around the ground trying to entice away followers.

Maybe an astute publican could 'sell' tickets over the bar matchdays/during the week thereby hopefully enticing people in?

Maybe the Ultra bus could support it more often?

Maybe they could reduce their prices somewhat to lure more bums on seats?

Maybe if the bus drops off entirely then the OSC could run more 'Rossendale Buses' without upsetting the club?

If the official coaches dont work out SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than driving then the extra time taken on the coach to somewhere like Barnet makes it a much easier day in the car. Factor in stopping when you like and home before midnight. Plus if they keep cancelling them at short notice then they ain't gonna appeal to the 'last minute decision to go' fan. I agree its sad we can't fill it week in week out but as a main sponsor to Accrington Stanley, Fraser Eagle should be doing more to promote the service.......How about a 'family ticket' or regulars discount???

Re: Barnet

When i go to away games i prefer to always go in my car, its quicker, and like already mentioned you can stop when you want and you can also smoke on the way.
The last time i travelled on a coach was the free one to Hereford a few seasons ago, but thats the only only reason i went on it cos it was free, Frazer Eagle would have to make it more worth it to travel by coach than in my car for me to be converted.

We trvelled to MK Dons last season on the Fraser Eagle coach and it was in comfort, it was on time, very well run from booking by phone to the actual journey as you would expect of a large organisation. My only gripe would be there is not much of a discount given for concessions.

Re: Barnet

does the club no about this?

It makes a world of difference away from home having fans appealing your decisions and getting behind the team.

a dissapointing outcome.

Re: Barnet

Dont get me wrong when i went by coach it was very comfortable, stress free and very well run, but i still like to make my own way there, just a personal preference, i`m not knocking Frazer Eagle in anyway at all.
