Arsenal at Stanley

If your'e not going to MK Dons a week on Saturday you have the chance to see possible Premiership stars of the future playing at Stanley. The FA Youth Cup against Burnley has been arranged at the FES.

Do you reckon Arsene will be looking for an overnight stay in Accy on his way to Middlesborough that weekend ? :)

Re: Arsenal at Stanley

Dave,

Fantastic question, no doubt with the KO time the team will be somewhere like the Dunkenhalgh. Where are the Arsenal 1st time that day??

More importantly with the Burnley 1st team at Wolves on TV @ 5ish that day, how many of your loyal fans will be at the FES??? With a fast car you could atcually see both games live!

Will many Burnley fans take the easy option; Youth team @ the FES and the 1st team in the local on SKY.

Arsenal's youth nearly won the Carling Cup last year, I wonder how many will still be eligable for this season's youth cup?? Any statos out there??:)

Re: Arsenal at Stanley

Arsenal are at Middlesboro on the Sunday so it's en-route :)

It's not gone down too well with the faithful regarding kick off time. Would have been better an hour or 2 earlier. Most of the coaches will have gone or be setting off at that time, although the away following will be down because of Sky.

Attendance wise difficult call, lots of people looking foward to the game, I'll guess at this stage 500/600, wouldn't have hesitated to say a 1,000 if the loyal support hadn't been called away :)

Re: Arsenal at Stanley

Dave,

Confused and correct me if I'm wrong:

Burnley are away at Wolves Ko 5-20ish. Need to be at ground (via coach @ say 4-30) I would estimate 1 hour 30 mins to Wolves, so that would mean 3pm set off from East Lancs.

Youth team game will finish at 2-45. Surely no issue?

I know you Clarets are loyal fans, but 3 weeks before Christmas you can all afford to travel to Wovles ( coach £15, ticket £20??) to watch a game that you can see in most pubs, clubs and houses for nowt!!! You are the most loyal fans!!!

A couple of the supporters clubs including Accy Clarets setting off at 12 noon. Apparently they need a pee stop and the toilets are in a pub :D

We can't afford fast cars, we need the money for the prices charged in the Championship :)

By the way did I mention I'm crap at guess the gate :D

I know you were all looking forward to this match but it's now been called off.

Apparently the pitch is unplayable, can you not play home games a few days before we need the pitch in future please :D

The pitch is a mud bath, I haven't seen it like that for ages. I wonder if letting the dingles use it has been too much.

As much as we dont like it.. the Burnley Money is needed. They play a pre season friendly 3000 ish gate at a £10 per head £30 grand in Stanleys bank for a dozen games ???. The dingles dont take a penny out of the match.

I'm not EWs Biggest fan but that is one hell of a deal and fair play to the directors for agreeing to the deal.

Don't know what the financial arrangements are for Friday but there should be a few on at £4 a go, should add another few bob to the kitty at the FES.

The money will go to Burnley, its part of the deal made for the friendly we had pre season. Will be interesting too see if any stars of the future will take the field, know there are a good number of gooner fans in Blackburn-trust them!!! As for gate prices down again to Burnley, will be their turnstile operators in action. By the way the main stand & home end only will be open for the game.:theband:

As I take 4 of the girls who work on the catering vans, I can confirm Mick (van owner) has said that at least 2 should be open for this match, also Accy Stewards will also be in attendance, so someone is hoping for a decent gate. However, with the weather as it is at the moment, is the pitch liable to be waterlogged again?

Possibly a bigger crowd than I thought then :)

Not sure if two vans will be needed, depends if the bar is open for all at half time. We are Dingles, what's a dingle without a beer in hand :D

A sober Dingle!!!! The mind boggles.
The gate money we got from the friendly all went into Stanleys coffers.
