January Transfer Activity
According to the LET, we have a busy few weeks coming up:
East Lancashire's daily newspaper. Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley & Ros I'm intrigued by this quote from JB: "We've got our eye on a centre-half from a non-league club". Given our recent transfers and the Gary Roberts rumours, which of Smith, Halford or Welch do we think this is? :) |

Certainly plays with passion and commitment, if he's filled out a bit there'd be a more than a few forwards hiding in midfield. ;) |
Re: January Transfer Activity
Last time I saw Chris Butler, in November against Hyde he was still playing at full back, he hasn't filled out and he is just as mad (Psycho) so I don't think there is an earthly chance of signing him.

Re: January Transfer Activity
Just thought I would resurrect this one having found an article while looking for something else;
Sligo complete signing of duo by Gareth Maher, 21 January 2008 <!-- Main image -->http://www.setantasports.com/upload/...s/PaulCook.jpg Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cook has bolstered his squad by bringing two new signings to the Showgrounds. Cook was eager to add some fresh faces to his squad ahead of the new season, and has done just that with the capture of both Sean Doherty and Chris Butler. Doherty, who plays on the left side of midfield, arrives from Royal Antwerp after spells with Southport, Accrington Stanley, and Port Vale. The 22-year-old has been capped at youth level for England and is eager to kickstart his career with his new club. Butler comes to the club from English Conference side Barrow A.F.C. and should compete for a place at left-back, if the 23-year-old can settle quickly in the west of Ireland. |
