Revived Red sorted the last one out, I'm not sure if he wants the hassle again, but the last calender was excellent.

The club should have produced a calendar and had it ready as a stocking filler pre-Christmas. I believe that it would have been a decent seller and therefore a money maker for the club. |
Re: 2008 Calender
I've had many requests about this, so I'll explain.
First of all, I have to say that there will be no calendar for 2008. Despite several requests over the last year, the club has been unable to tell me how many 2007 calendars have been sold. So.... I have no idea how many I would have to print this year. I think I printed too many last year. I naively imagined that the club would try to sell them on through newsagents, supermarkets, garages etc, in addition to its own outlets. Certainly the pricing was such that the club could have acted as a wholesaler in addition to retailer. I felt that such sales to other shops would have helped to promote the club. I do not know how much profit the club has made from the calendar. I know exactly how much I have lost. I want to say here how much I appreciated the many kind comments that I received about the calendar. I would have been delighted to do another. |

Re: 2008 Calender
Thats a shame, i bought 3 last year, one for work one for home and i bought my son one.
But i can understand why you aren`t doing one, what is wrong with this club and its Google Page Ranking/Marketing ?. |

People buy things like calendars before the new year, so that they can start using them immediately. People who buy them after the new year expect an enormous discount. I spent £6 on a RSPB calendar for 2008, simply because I assumed their wouldn't be a club one. Shame. |

Re: 2008 Calender
Revived Red, You don’t need us to tell how good the first and regrettably last ASFC calendar was all over again, it was and for those of us who bought one to squirrel away for posterity it always will be a classic, you have our appreciation and respect….
ASFC….You pillocks. When will you learn to open up, embrace and work with those who put themselves, their time and often their own money into supporting the Club? The 2007 Calendar was a fundraising gift horse that could and thereafter should have been a main stay of commercial sales over Christmas and New Year. We have bought five calendars this season around £45 in total, three of them could have been Stanley calendars and would have been valued gifts. I’ve still two to buy for the office so that would have been five for me in total not to mention knock on sales from those that might have seen them and wanted one as three people did last year. Money is always a much vaulted issue at Stanley….Get a grip, stop selling tat and get a bit a class, your making us look bad. |
Re: 2008 Calender
an idea I have toyed about with is a seasonal calendar rather than an annual one. Rather than put it up for sale pre-christmas it would be pre-season. The months would start at August and continue through until the following July with all Stanley fixtures, OSC meets and do's in addition to major National/International fixtures such as the Euro's or FA Cup final.
It is a big break from tradition to do a calendar that is not January to December but does anybody on here think it a good idea? more Stanley uniquey! |
Re: 2008 Calender
Yeah i like it, as a football fan one that runs from season to season makes good sense as like you say all the fixtures can be included on the one calender, i`ll have some if and when they get done.

I too, think a seasonal calender would be good. I realised last year when the fixtures finished in May and there was nothing for the new season. I didn't want to say anything at the time, as I would have come across as ungrateful and picky, especially after the excellent and generous work by Revived Red. It could go into production within a few days of the fixtures coming out, there will also be more chance of the featured players, still being here when the calender runs out. All this is dependent, of course, on the backroom staff being able to come out of their comfort zones, put some effort in, and stop being so amateurish. |
