Ok guys n gals, I have had quite a decent response so far and have decided to start the OSC Poker Night again.

I will see Hazel this weekend and try to get a date etc sorted out with Her, and as soon as I have done I will post the details on here.

To those of you who have already contacted me via the other resurrected thread or pm, thankyou for your support.

More players still needed so if interested just put your name on this thread!!

Just a silly idea that might just work!

What about having the poker nights on a Monday after the Supporters Club meetings. That way you might just kill two big birds with one small stone. I

Not a bad Idea buddy, I will have a think about that, the main problem I can forsee is that it takes the best part of an hour to set up, and with fat club using the clubhouse as well it could be a little frantic!! :eek:

I think you would have problems with bar cover as it is quiz night in the crown on a Monday!!

Hi peeps, update time!

I spoke to Rob Heys tonight and have PROVISIONALY booked the sports bar for the LAST sunday in Feb (24th) for a one off Texas Hold'em Tourney.

I say one off, as the turnout will decide whether I go back to a monthly 'do' or leave it alone.

Please confirm on this thread if you want a seat (max 24 players), also please remember that you MUST be OVER 18 to play.

Buy in will be £10 NO rebuys.
Prize money will be decided on the night as will be dependant on numbers turning up.


The idea of this night is to raise money for the Club, not a get rich quick game!! Therefore the prize money will be split between the top 4 players as before, and the OSC.

If you fancy playing, but dont know how to, dont worry we will be happy to help you along, it will be a friendly game and I promise you will have fun. The bar will be open and I will ask Hazel if there would be any chance of putting on a bit of supper for us..............but she will need definate numbers so hence the need to sign up now!!

Well thats it in a nutshell, so now over to you guys/gals!!

Right then, it is all systems go for SUNDAY 24th FEB @7.30 for an 8pm start at the clubhouse.

a total of 15 turned up for what was a very entertaining evening. Certain people who said they would come didn't turn up and you know who you are (ok one sent his apologies in advance to Pete so he doesn't count). I think he may try again next month but this is entirely in his hands. Thanks Pete and all the others who turned up. A very enjoyable evening (even though I was first out as usual).

Well Ive just got back home after a most enjoyable evening and want to say a huge thankyou to all who attended this evenings Poker Night.

Although only 15 people turned up, we still managed to raise £100 for the OSC, not a bad nights work!!

The winners were as follows:-

3rd place and £10 winner was Macca
2nd place and £15 winner was Sarah Worden (ASLFC)
1st place and £25 + trophy went to Shakermaker...(hope the jet lag wears off soon mate!)

Hope to organise another for the end of March and will post details on here as soon as I have the details sorted.

Must say thanks also to Hazel for running the bar for us, and for dealing at the side table at the end of the night (which Will won, despite strong opposition form Kipax...........ahem!!)

All in all a good night!

A huge apollogy to you all, but I have been working away from home for the past couple of weeks so have been unable to sort out as I had promised.........things have calmed down a little now so I PROMISE to sort somthing out this week................anyone know when Hazel is at the clubhouse?
