Rommy in Africa
I've just seen a close-up of Rommy, when he turned around his name has changed since Monday, he's lost a 'C'.
Benin seen to be doing well against the Ivory Coast, a team with some big names in their sqaud. |
Re: Rommy in Africa
He'd better not play too well otherwise he could be #7 ... :(

Re: Rommy in Africa
I've really enjoyed these games, Benin did really well tonight & never gave up - even at 4 - 0 down. Chuffed to bits when they got their goal, they deserved it :)

Re: Rommy in Africa
Admittedly Benin were playing against one of the fancied nations, but after watching that, maybe Rommy's taken a bit of the A.S.F.C. defensive culture to "educate" his compatriots !!
Regardless of the result, the question begs to be asked......... How can a guy who can't get into OUR first team starting XI, who's supposedly not fit, go and mix it with some of the Premier league's and Europe's finest ? I Didn't attend the Q & A with Coley & Co last night and, with some of the rumours that have been milling around on here, maybe it would have been a relevant question to ask J.C. ?? For my mind, F.A.O. Mr. Coleman : give the lad a fair chance to show his true value. Tell us why the lad ain't good enough to play in league 2, yet he can go and captain his country (albeit a minor African nation) in a major championship, playing against some of the better players in the world ??? Otherwise we may well just lose another "unpolished diamond" to another club without seeing the lad reach his true potential wearing the red of A.S.F.C.:( |
Re: Rommy in Africa
Boco has struggled with injury since being injured playing for Benin last November. He also moved to Warrington in the summer - against the advice of everybody at Stanley because he 'wanted to move to thte big city'. He has also tried to engineer his own move. He will struggle to find a place.
...from last night Q&A. |
Re: Rommy in Africa
Think the problem is that now we are league status its getting hard for us to compete with other clubs, simply our wage bill is poor & the pressures of being a club of our size & finances - the grass can be greener on the other side. Seems the standard of players we had in the conference is higher than the ones they've shown in the league. Thing is one or two of Benin's players were showing a lot of skill & have pace capable of league 2, tho i think Rommy isn't quite fit enough [which i said about him in their last game] & lost his pace a bit or gave up on some run ons.
