four days left and ....
counting ...
is there going to be any more outs through the transfer window? Miles, Carden, McEvilly, Dsane have already gone and Roberts and Brown are in discussion still - will there be any more? will somebody come in at the last minute with an offer for a player we'd rather keep? is there gonna be any more coming in? Doughty and King have come in but we still want central defenders, a foil for Mullers and a proper left sider. Are there any more irons in the fire? |

Re: four days left and ....
yeah been getting those updates too...hey if I was on backpost, can you imagine how much space would be covered :p
|
Re: four days left and ....
Don't forget this weeks deadline is only for permanent signings, the window opens again the week after for loans.
|
Re: four days left and ....
I think loans may have to be the way forward or short term contracts, looking at this season and who has come in and has since gone or fallen out of favour to me it would make perfect sense, as it would give the Club a short term fix and a chance to look at the players day to day to see if they are going to improve on what is already available at the Club without the long term risk of players sat in the stands or looking to move players out before anybody else can be brought in.

Re: four days left and ....
I agree! I was there and thought he was different class!
Looks like he has been injury free too! Wait and see I guess.............. |
Re: four days left and ....
Don't you think that we have got enough midfielders ? GET THE DEFENCE SORTED OUT.
|
Re: four days left and ....
Mannix is an holding or defensive midfielder!!
For me too many times the back four are exposed with teams running at them! If we get a nil we cannot lose!! I'll be happy to start there. |
Re: four days left and ....
Priority has too be a Defender and an experienced one at that, someone to organise the back four, instil confidence into them and help work them as a unit!
A Striker would also be good seeing as we have already lost two and possibly a third to go |
Re: four days left and ....
Mannix would be a great signing for us. I know one swallow doesnt make a summer, but he was absolutely superb at Grimsby last season.
|
Re: four days left and ....
Hopefully today will see the arrival of a Championship Defender on loan:)

It's official now about Aswad Thomas

Re: four days left and ....
Haha great news!!!!!
Great coup by Coley!!! |

Re: four days left and ....
Jamo!!! Jamo!!!! Jamo!!!! Jamo!!!! :):):):)
|
Re: four days left and ....
My only prayer is that jamo doesn't concentrate too much on punching the ball out, he used to frighten life out of me :o
|
Re: four days left and ....
Good news about David Mannix, and the young lad from Charlton looks promising too - what with that and Jamo back as goalkeeping coach - things are looking up :)
|
Re: four days left and ....
absolutely brilliant transfer news about Mannix, the guy oozes quality and has the knack of being able to turn and make 15 yards of space. That will be crucial in this league. I'll wager that he will turn out to be Coleys best ever signing. Not sure exactly how he will fit into the team or who will make way for him but he will be a first name on the sheet.
Let's see about Aswad but DON'T TURN AROUND! - Described as having exceptional pace and power, just what we need so I hope he stays longer than a month. Jamo - brought in primarily for his attitude and enthusiasm I would have thought. Cracking bloke to be around and he can only enhance the mood of the squad. But who is gonna be teaching our keepers how to kick? |

Re: four days left and ....
Everybody seems to be raving about Mannix. He only played one game for us - at Grimsby - in a game where five players made their Stanley debut, McGivern and Whalley plus Mannix, Dugdale, and Jacobson on loan, and Rocky was playing at right back. I must admit Mannix did stand out amongst the others, but I wouldn't like to pass an opinion on him without seeing him play a few more games. I hope he turns out to be as good as we all think he is. Doesn't say how long he has signed for, probably until the end of the season.

Re: four days left and ....
It says "a permanent Deal"

Re: four days left and ....
from what I remember reading about him last year, Liverpool would have kept him had it not been for his bad knee injury, same as King at Rovers. Top flight clubs would only take a slight gamble on the absolute top quality players if they had suffered injuries as those two have. The fact that they would have liked to have kept him but didn't says to me that he had the quality to challenge for a place in their squad but they didn't expect him to have become a regular first teamer. That's good enough for me, but what I saw of him at Grimsby was that he was able to create space so easily, and we have nobody who can do that at this moment.
If we play players in their correct positions then he would be the holding player and Craney the creator in a flat four midfield - that is two good footballing brains in the engine room so for me things are looking up there. We will of course still accomodate at least Harris or Proctor if not both of them by playing a five man midfield or shoving Craney up front. there is now a five minute interview with Mannix online. |
Re: four days left and ....
here is the profile I read last year Liverpoolfc.tv :Youth Squad - David Mannix
how many of our players have an address where you can send off for autographs? ★ David Mannix Address lol |
Re: four days left and ....
Excited about Aswad Thomas. Good news about Mannix - even better that it's a permanent deal.
Still hoping we can get an experienced centre half in who is closer to 30 than 40 and on a permanent deal! We can dream eh :D |

Re: four days left and ....
I still fear up front with no real back up for Mullin & Mcgivern, playing Craney may work?
But any injuries or suspensions and if we don't sign another striker it could prove costly:eek: |
Re: four days left and ....
still got Boco who can play up front, could recall Evil, maybe Whalley would revel in the move infield like Gary Roberts did (on his way to Southend accroding to The Star this morning)
|
Re: four days left and ....
With luck Aswad will be another Godwin and we'll keep him to the end of the season.
Delighted to see David Mannix back on a permanent basis. I was one of the people privileged to see his Stanley debut at Grimsby and he looked a fine creative central midfielder and I was very disappointed when he went to Norway rather than Stanley. |
Re: four days left and ....
didnt see mannix last year but read the reviews so am happy with that signing. if we play king harris/proctor craney todd across midfield with whalley and mullin up front i'd be happier still. as for defence hope the new lad is good. doughty defo good we should try and keep hold. anyone got news on sean webb tho?
|
Re: four days left and ....
McGivern and not whalley, i think whalley is a good player but up front keep him runing down the wing
|
Re: four days left and ....
whalley's pace is dangerous but his crossing leaves a lot to be desired. whilst regular play may improve this, the one thing we were lacking at darlo was pace in the final third. i believe whalley's pace in a central position can cause the opposition problems. mullin evil and mcgivern all seem quite similar in style and this season a lot of teams (esp the better ones) have figured our attack out before the game has even begun. whalley might unlock their defences with his pace.

Re: four days left and ....
I see Hartlepool have signed Przemyslaw Kazimierczak for an undisclosed fee.

According To BBC Browny has moveed to Rushden on a month's loan. |
Re: four days left and ....
David's loan move to Rushden now confirmed on fishy site, to be honest I reckon David is better than conference level but at least he'll get to play regularly which he hasn't been given the chance to do for us. Good luck David - hopefully we'll see you back at the FES soon.

Re: four days left and ....
Any one remember the initial confusion about David Mannix's blue shirt appearing on Ebay when actually he played in red at Grimsby? Well at least the right name was on the shirt.
Here not only is the shirt a colour David has yet to wear competitively for Accy - its got the wrong head (Leam's) on it and he's been given the wrong name (Danny Mannix) . Kop Youngsters leave for pastures new | Transfer News | Independent Liverpool FC Website Also thought Liverpool had released him to join Ham Kam as their player before he joined us. |
