After yesterdays match I was well hacked off. The confidence and camaraderie of previous squads has dissappeared and the negativity is infecting the terraces. Then I looked up this thread and realised why I turn up every week with my hard earned £13. Read it and weep folks, I did.

Don't you think there are enough divisions between Stanley fans at the moment, without stirring up recriminations over events that occurred nearly two years ago? I don't think this was what Uncke Mick had in mind when he ressurected this thread!

Precisely Wynonie, even if you only go to one match a season you are a supporter who would have been moved when we reentered the league and would be devistated if we dropped out again. I posted up that thread as a shining beacon of positivity against all the negatives we`ve had recently.:)

I wasn't at Woking (the reasons why are sod all to do with Jesus Was A Red or anyone else) and I for one would be devastated if we dropped out of the league. I will be at Chester next week, by the way!

I'm pretty sure that Eric would prefer everyone to save their money going to away matches and pay for a friend to go to the next home match instead.

It was easy to go to Woking a couple of years ago. It's always easy to go anywhere when you're top of the league and facing promotion in the face.
Try going to Goole Town (or wherever) on a foggy Tuesday night when the team you support are midtable, season, after season, after season............

I'm pretty fed up with things and have been for a long time. I'll still keep going, because I'm an idiot. :D

Uncle Mick .....oh the memories - something to really celebrate then & that just wasn't the obvious of winning the conference - it was the level of play & performance, the team played as a team, played with gusto, hearts on their sleeves & never gave up even if losing!!! Thats the stanley i came to watch many seasons ago:D

Looking back at that time has only made the realisation of how lack lustre with 11 individuals mind reading with difficulty!! Not a team of recent matches, playing worse at home, no gusto - no passion - no heart & giving up all too easily!! Even last season we played with much better passion & drive than we are this season & thats whats making it worse - COS we are a league 2 team very capable of staying that way - mid table even, why are we playing like a relegated team already:confused:

Some people on here - die hards even, have suggested the idea of returning to the conference - why? its too easy for us - too comfort zone, not only for players but for those fans too,:confused: would it benefit us more gate wise - maybe not. Are we scared of a challenge ??? Seems so, breaks my heart regardless of the result - even losing that if we have to lose we lose with passion, with pride that we did the very best we could, we fought for the 3 points, we tried with might & just luck wasn't with us - i would so much prefer that than seeing what i have especially at home of late!!

How are fans supposed to get behind the team - when the team gives up so easily [management tactics + players ability being key here], we had that last season & previously but i've seen not much this season.

C'mon players/management...show us like u did last season, u keep the faith & we will back ya & keep the faith! WE CAN DO THIS & BLOODY CAPABLE OF BEING IN LEAGUE 2 EASILY A MID TABLE LEAGUE 2 - DONT GIVE UP! Getting relegated for trying hard & proving that but alas we cant - fair enough, BUT relegated without trying hard as i know we can we did it last season, would be heart & soul destroying indeed!!

There my rant over - its not a negative one - just a constructive one that i believe we can stay & perform better our lads are capable just not showing it all atm:rolleyes::D

We don't expect promotion just a decent performance from the team, something to encourage supporters to keep coming to the games. We have got one point from our last six games that's what everyone's problem is.

It might seem depressing to point this out but look at our past record in the league - apart from a very brief period in the mid-fifties - we consistently struggled. We finished bottom on a number of occasions when there was no automatic relegation and we somehow managed to persuade the league committee that we should be re-elected.

Where is there any reasoning that we should be any higher than where we are?

Personally I desparately want us to stay in the league - its what we dreamt about for years and years. But maybe we need to change our mindsets. We're not a big fish in League 2 - the truth is we've probably reached our level and there'll be plenty more grim matches to come.

I'll keep going to the matches myself but as things stand there's not much to advertise the team to 'soft' fans. A friend of mine asked if they were at home this coming Saturday cos he normally goes to Rovers, the last Stanley match he went to was Bradford on New Years Day and in spite of the good atmosphere that was no advertisement for the Stanley brand.

Good point Jeff, something i made of point of too, is that if we went down would it flourish our support to improve gates, as most of the gate of conference when we were there was about playing well onfield & putting on a good performance to the point we won promotion - achieving the dream that we waited a long time for - bringing a new support with it, we played entertaining footy. To go back down without effort would lose the momentum. Die hards will always remain in strong support but attaining new support & keeping that requires playing well not going to see us hammered & players not performing at all. Its not about position in league its about a team with pride & playing well as we should be especially at home:rolleyes:

Coley, Jimmy Bell, Eric, Rob Heys, they all tell us that we have a squad capable of reaching the play off's and that our aim is promotion to league one. Some people believe everything that Coley says, that is the reasoning that we should be higher than where we are.

The management team have to be ambitious, even with limited resources - its their job to motivate the players to achieve more. All I'm saying is we've got to be realistic. Anything's possible, as our earlier season form suggests. But if we are going to make sustainable progress it will have to be steady.

What really worries me is that we've sold D'Sane, Andy Todd isn't fit, Craney has been dissapointing since he came back and Mullin can't do it all on his own. We've always had problems defending but if we can't score then we are in real trouble.

I gather David Brown failed to put away "a gifted (gilt edged?) chance" in Rushton's 2-0 win at Halifax and got subbed after 74 mins.

Add to that list the departure of Brown and now Boco and we are rapidly running out of forwards / goalscorers. It was plain to see last Saturday against Wycombe that we're starting to run out of ideas / options. The loan window is now open and I only hope that Coleman can bring in a couple of players who will give us a few different options up front.

Otherwise it's going to be a struggle to reach safety and we're already starting to look nervously over our shoulders at the clubs below us.:(

Am I losing the faith? Yes I am but I will be there on Saturday hoping we can get three points, I will be the one with the rain cloud above my head carrying the big paper round sack so please say hello and cheer me up. It's like rats leaving a sinking ship, both Boco and Graham Charnley in two days, god I'm depressed roll on Saturday.

It's certainly getting harder to 'keep the faith' with what's gone on the last week or two, losing Roscoe, Browny & now Rommy which only leaves us with two strikers, one of which is injured & we've been told won't be fit for this weekend. Pass the sackcloth & ashes :(

Most talented individually, yes. Best TEAM no. Last season the lads were fighting for each other tooth and nail, and even when they lost, we always went down fighting doing ourselves proud. How we'd so dearly love to have the attitude of the Forest game installed back amongst the lads. :rolleyes:

I for one do not give one iota of a frig about how many games we win, lose, or draw - or whatever obscure division we end up in.

All I care about is the fans, players, coaching staff and behind the scene-ers showing respect to Accrington Stanley. It's name, badge and heritage deserve the following things at least:

1) Showing some bollocks through the tough times.
2) Giving your all for the club, even when personal interests conflict.
3) Enjoying our football.

Whether we play Notts Forest in the FA Cup or Worcester on a Tuesday night (what long journey home that was) - it doesn't matter.

I just want to see this team get their bottle back!

I really hope I'm right but players like David Mannix should at least bring a will to win and pride in the thrill of playing back!!!!!!!!!!
